Relaxing, charming stay in a...

Liked: The location is lovely. My room was quite and comfortable, very clean and had a nice view over the front lawn.Afternoon tea out on the grass was also really peaceful. Perfect for an overnight stop while visiting the Cotswolds
Disliked: There wasn't enough staff around and we quite often had to wait or go searching for help. There really needed to be at least one more person on reception and at the bar / outside area

Liked: A little expensive but worth it! Amazing contemporary artwork. Great quiet idylic location. Take the walk to Upper Slaugher, and the path to Burton on Water that goes north of the equestrian center to Buckle Steet.

Wonderful location and excellent staff.

Liked: Staff were excellent as was the room
Disliked: Room was really hot and lobby music could be heard from our room after 10pm. I thought there was a function on. Lovely lady in reception turned it down.Silly £5 service charge requested on departure but also immediately said we didn't need to pay it. So why ask for a petty sum after we'd already paid over £200. Just charge more for the room if you tou need to!

Terrible - don’t waste your...

Liked: The location and the manor garden and exterior are beautiful.
Disliked: For over £850 for two rooms for one night, we were expecting something special. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming from the moment we arrived. At check-in, the receptionist was surprisingly rude and pushy. Despite us explaining (several times) that we’d had a big lunch and would call down later if we got hungry, she insisted we book something for dinner immediately. We checked in around 5:30 pm — not exactly late — but she kept going on about how “the chefs need to know” and tried to get us to reserve a table for the bar menu in the lounge. Honestly, one of the strangest check-in experiences we’ve ever had.We figured we’d decompress with a drink in the garden, but that turned into a hunt — we had to go looking for bar staff just to place an order. The decor throughout the property also felt totally off. It’s a gorgeous English manor, yet it’s been kitted out with random rock and roll posters and music that feels wildly out of place. It’s like someone tried to mash up a country house and a Hard Rock Café — and it just doesn’t work.Breakfast was no better. Spent 10 mins at 8 AM looking for staff to order, ended up walking into the kitchen to find some staff. When the approached our table she proceeded to tell us how busy she was with two in room breakfast services. Undercooked scrambled eggs, floppy toast, and bacon that was so overdone it could’ve snapped in half. Absolutely not the standard you’d expect for the price. The staff were not customer centric and you got the impression that you were in the way of them doing their “tasks”.Then checkout rolled around. I called down multiple times for luggage help — no answer. Eventually, I bumped into someone in the hallway who kindly helped. They asked how the stay was, and I gave honest feedback. Bottom line: for this price point, we expected quality, service, and attention to detail. Instead, we got awkward check-ins, poor food, patchy service, and strange vibes. Wouldn’t return.

Has the potential to be...

Liked: The property and grounds are beautiful The staff were lovely and incredibly friendly.
Disliked: The bedrooms are not high enough spec for the price. There are no amenities and in a Junior Suite which is what we booked I would at least expect there to be a fridge so we could keep drinks chilled. It is very poor by comparison to stays at other properties in the area. It’s also incredibly inflexible, once we had checked in and paid for the room we were told there was no food served on site on a Sunday which I would not expect for such a large hotel. We were not prior warned before check in either. We then proceeded to try and order food on the Monday and were told they also don’t serve food on a Monday. They ask you to walk over to a sister restaurant on the other side of the village but being pregnant I didn’t want to have to walk around to get food and the menu at their sister restaurant is very limited. To finish it off we then weren’t able to check out when we needed to on the Tuesday morning as the night porter couldn’t take payment so we had to wait for the main staff to come on shift. It’s just not geared up to serve at hotel level it’s what you would expect if you stayed in a B&B and didn’t spend £500 plus a night for a room. If anyone does need accessible entrances or rooms I would also advise against.
