The Shireburn Arms

Told receptionist about noisy room....

Liked: Nice place, decent facilities, garden area, free parking.
Disliked: Very noisy room (5) at the top of stairs from bar - staff were cleaning up, setting up for breakfast ( lots of glass, cutlery and crockery clattering)and talking as they worked until 2am. Then the kitchen extractor fan (right outside our window) started up at 3am. Bed not very comfortable (needs a deep foam topper) All in all, maybe 3hours sleep.Staff at breakfast weren’t well trained - no welcome or instructions re breakfast, brought coffee after tea without clean cups etc. very pleasant young men but obviously inexperienced

Liked: Great location,very nice bar and staff. Lovely breakfast.
Disliked: Room was on the small side. Window was small so it was difficult to cool the room on a very warm day/evening.

Peaceful, relaxing stay.

Liked: The location and views are amazing. The decor and cleanliness for the rooms were excellent. Staff were polite and accommodating and the food excellent. Breakfast was a hearty affair with a good choice of hot food too.
Disliked: Only pale ales on cask no bitters/stouts but that's a personal preference.

Practically perfect in every way!!

Liked: Clean, comfy, quiet, excellent food, fabulous staff. Beautiful, classy, old, British pub vibe
Disliked: It was a warm night and there was only a small opening window. (I guess to be expected with older maybe ‘listed’ buildings)

Very pleased with our stay...

Liked: Hotel, room and surroundings where beautiful
Disliked: Being picky but things like empty tables having glasses on for ages and watching staff not pick them up was a little disappointing. The table we was at on was on a lower lever and the floor on the upper level had crisps all over it. Yes I’m being picky but this place is beautiful and deserves to be kept clean.
