The Spotlight on The Sanctuary House Hotel

Classic Comfort in the Heart of Westminster

A blend of Victorian charm and modern convenience, The Sanctuary House Hotel is tucked away in the iconic Westminster district. Just a short walk to some of London’s most historic landmarks, including Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, this hotel offers a warm, inviting stay — ideal for music fans looking to be close to the action while enjoying a quieter, more refined atmosphere.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel is a prime pick for concert-goers thanks to its central location — many major venues are easily reached via nearby tube stations or even on foot. Despite being in the bustling heart of London, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat after a loud night out. With a 2pm check-in, you can arrive comfortably before your evening plans, and the 11am check-out gives you time to sleep in after the encore.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for an atmospheric base close to the city’s music scene
  • Solo travelers attending a bucket-list gig who want a safe, central stay
  • Couples turning their concert night into a romantic London weekend
  • Fans who want a quieter, stylish space to wind down post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want character and comfort

Food and Drink Options

Downstairs, you'll find a traditional Fuller's pub serving up hearty British classics like fish and chips and deep-filled pies — perfect for late-evening dining. While there's no 24/7 room service, the pub stays open late for drinks and dinner. Breakfast is available on-site and ideal for a relaxed morning after a night out. You’re also within walking distance of numerous eateries around Westminster and St James’s.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, the on-site pub offers a cozy, authentic British pub vibe with award-winning ales and wines. For more nightlife, you’re within easy reach of Soho, Covent Garden, and South Bank — all just a short tube ride away and packed with bars, lounges, and late-night spots.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the hotel’s location and charming atmosphere. Reviewers love the balance of being close to London’s top attractions while still enjoying a peaceful night’s sleep. The staff is noted for being friendly and helpful, and many mention the pub as a highlight for food and drinks after a day (or night) out.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are stylish but can be a bit compact, especially for those traveling with lots of gear. While the area is central, public transport may be your best friend after a late gig — so factor in travel time if your venue’s further afield.

The Bottom Line

A character-filled Westminster stay that’s perfect for concert-goers wanting a central location, classic pub vibes, and a peaceful night’s rest after the show.

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely comfortable room. Overall, an excellent place to stay, most comfortable and convenient.

Disliked: The darkness of the decor - a bit depressing. Noisy lift.

Good stay with a few...

Liked: Location was amazing. Breakfast good. Customer service also good. Design of rooms nice. Shower really nice. Clean sheets and room overall. Good facilities such as coffee, shampoo and TV.
Disliked: Size of room was smaller then expected as we paid for the deluxe room. Bed also smaller as it felt more like a double then a king. Other hotels for similar prices and benefits of.locatio. have much larger beds. One side of the bed also bit dipped which made it a little uncomfortable. Bed very close to the door.
