The Royal Sonesta Portland Downtown

Royal Sonesta is amazing. I will come back. Great experience.

Liked: The front desk was so inviting. Our room was immaculate. A special treat was waiting for my little dog. She was given a new ball, neck-kerchief and bowls were set out for her. Any place that gives a warm welcome for my little dog is worth 10 stars! The bed and pillows were incredible. Wonderful place. We'll be back!
Disliked: The only thing that was awkward was not having a valet meet us at the door, help with our luggage and take my car to valet for me. For what they charge for valet service, I think they could provide this service. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay.

Liked: Rooms were lovely and big, with the hotel having some impressive architecture. Soft furnishings were lovely and very eclectic. The location was ok, and we were able to walk to most things that we wanted to see. Unfortunately, downtown Portland is not quite as buzzing as it used to be, so there are some seedy areas to avoid. Stay close to this hotel and you will enjoy what it has to offer.
Disliked: Breakfast was poor. When we went down, there was nothing left. The plates were empty. When we checked out they are replenished the plates, but it was too late. Quite disappointing.

Liked: The facility was clean, quiet and seemed to have been recently remodeled very tastefully. Service was great. We were going to try the restaurant/bar but they closed at 8PM so never went back. Plenty of dining options in downtown Portland though. Parking in secure garage just down the block.
Disliked: restaurant hours

Liked: The hotel was wonderful the people the staff were just awesome very kind very friendly and very helpful. I can’t wait to go back again. I had a wonderful experience with my little doggy.

Liked: It’s classy and the lobby is spacious with activities! Lots of elevators too. The onsite restaurant was nice as well.
Disliked: The wallpaper was nice but our room had a big pink stain behind the curtain. Thank goodness it was behind the curtain. Also didn’t like that there wasn’t a fridge in the room. Although they were available per request.
