Okay for a short stay,...

Liked: Nice location, an easy walk to restaurants in town. The room was very nice, comfortable and clean.
Disliked: Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Cooked items quite good, poor selection when it came to cold items.Parking on site was very expensive per day - we found it cheaper to park on the street nearby.The staff weren't particularly friendly.

Liked: The room was shabby, paintwork marked and the carpet was quite stained in places. The lady in the restaurant on breakfast, Stephanie was friendly and coped very well considering she was the only one on duty - with 30 plus covers for breakfast.
Disliked: A room pictured in the hotels photos would have been good.

Liked: Good location for event I was attending. Nice lobby, restaurant and garden. Nice helpful reception staff.
Disliked: At breakfast restaurant quite full, at least 24 people, and one person Stephanie trying to single-handedly run the restaurant. Shocking. I don’t know how she didn’t just walk out. She is a credit to you for how she carried on. You should not have only one staff member on. very poor show.

Just okay

Liked: Lovely garden, pleasant common areas.
Disliked: My room was in the old section. Remodeled bathroom but old tired room, dirty old wooden sash window. Dirty carpet. Corridor Fire doors all scratched/marked.

Superb

Liked: The breakfast was the only thing to let the hotel down, the service was poor and the food was cold , our previous stays have always been exceptional, but the breakfast process spoilt it this time , but we would still come back

Overpriced and dirty

Liked: Breakfast was okay
Disliked: Room was much smaller than expected, hotel was dated, it was dirty (lots of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, by the wardrobe and on the windows). Shower head was broken and bathroom plug hole was dirty (limescale and rust). For over £200 per night I was expected much better standard.

Not worth the monies

Liked: This was our second time staying at this hotel, unfortunately, this will be the last one.
Disliked: Our room was not hoovered, carpet hasn’t been clean and had stains on it.Furniture was on the verge of being broken and shower window was already broken, which has caused a leak.A towel in the bathroom happened to be dirty too, sadly we have noticed it too late.There was a wedding in the venue and we were not informed about this, when our room was the closest to it.We were on the go and did not complain to reception, as we had a feeling out problem would not be resolved , as staff did not come across as friendly or professional.We have paid around £130 per room and had noisy and overall unpleasant stay.

Overall experience was good.

Liked: Evening meals were very good quality and well presented. Waiting staff were excellent (thanks to David for all of his assistance).
Disliked: Booking.com should have made clear that the ‘half board’ option was limited to £25 per person. We expected to pay for drinks obviously, but were surprised to receive a bill at the end of our evening meal for the value of the food over and above this amount per head. Fortunately the manager waived the charge as it was not mentioned anywhere in any correspondence received in relation to our booking. Booking.com need to make this clear on the website.Rooms were hot as we visited during a heatwave and the aircon didn’t work. We were offered a fan as an alternative.
