Disliked: Extremely dirty carpets didn't look like they've been hoovered four months , horrendous smell of damp and mould on the walls in bedroom . Hotel manager was aggressive, rude and a horrible man told us to leave the hotel at midnight, simply because we had asked for an air freshener when we arrived after a night out . Do not stay here.

Liked: The location was good with plenty of parking. Breakfast was nice and the lady who served us was charming. Lovely old house in its own grounds.
Disliked: It was not clean. Stairway and landing looked like they had not been hovered for ages and mid-stair window sill was covered with midges, both dead and alive! The entrance floor was covered in leaves and debris. Although the bedroom seemed surface clean, the mattress was very uncomfortable, hard and lumpy. The furnishings and decor were tired.On inspecting the mattress it was old and, to our horror, we saw what was clearly a larva embedded in the bottom corner of the mattress. Not familiar with bed infestations, we are disinfecting our case and washing all our clothes on return home, just in case we have inherited an unwanted guest!! To recap, a lovely old house in nice grounds, but very tired and in need of a revamp and a jolly good clean!

Fabulous friendly family run accommodation

Liked: Great family run place with a friendly welcome and really nice people. The Carvery Sunday Roast was ridiculous and I mean UTTERLY Ridiculous !! - For goodness sake - how do these people expect one person to eat so much. Absolutely brilliant especially after a fair journey from Scotland. Will definitely be back. Thanks David & Team / Family.

Liked: My boyfriend and I arrived at the hotel to a really warm welcome from the hotel staff. They gave us a free upgrade to a bigger room and fixed us a nice hot breakfast in the morning:) The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained and the hotel is very cozy. If you're lucky, you'll see Margo (cute little Daschund) ❤️Would 100% recommend if you're looking for a nice, quiet, cozy place away from the hustle and bustle. Very friendly staff
