We ate at the hotel restaurant. The bed was comfortable. The room was a nice size and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We valet parked our car and it was taken good care of. We would stay at the Wyndham again.

Liked: We had a nice experience at the hotel.

It's a very old hotel but it is in a fantastic location for Manhattan. The price is exceptional for a NYC hotel and it is a clean, safe place to stay. Rooms were a little small but wouldn't stop me from staying again. Friendly staff.

Liked: Great location; nice price and clean.
Disliked: Small rooms.

Great place to stay in...

Liked: We were on our way home to Long Island from Niagara Falls, NY (on Amtrak) when we found out the LIRR was suspended due to Tropical Storm. We went on Booking.com and found this hotel just minutes from Penn Station. The staff was excellent and it was a great place for an emergency stay in the city. The hotel was immaculate.
Disliked: Nothing

Disappointing... I will NOT be...

Liked: Honestly there wasn?t too much I liked...I liked the AC and the shower
Disliked: The room was small, it said I was going to have a view of the skyline and Empire State Building. I basically was looking at cranes due to the construction going on. I felt like I was in the ghetto. There were more homeless people and junkies all around more than anything. It was disgusting! Manhattan has really gone to $hit! I couldn?t wait to leave and come home

Woman and 2 small children...

Liked: Loved the security and covid screenings
Disliked: Mold all in the bathroomMy room was assigned to another woman with 2 small children. When I returned from dinner about 11pm she was sitting on the floor holding a small child waiting for someone to come let her in my room

A simple, quiet getaway with...

Liked: What made this stay a good one was the incredible attention by all the staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, which was particularly important because we were there during the 4th of July weekend (pandemic). The first room we checked into was awful - not clean, very small, and the floor it was on was also in need of repair. I voiced my concerns and was quickly moved to a different floor and a much nicer room. We stayed two nights. The first night, the guests at the room next door were smoking weed and it got into our room. Again, I called the front desk and security quickly came up and took care of the problem. The rest of our stay was pleasant. We live in the city but decided to get away from the loud firework noise in our neighborhood. The New Yorker was quiet and so it delivered on that front. If we were visiting New York, I would recommend it as it's very well located right across Penn Station.
Disliked: The first room we checked into was awful - not clean, very small, and the floor it was on was also in need of repair. I voiced my concerns and was quickly moved to a different floor and a much nicer room, though if you've never been to New York, expect small rooms all around. We stayed two nights. The first night, the guests at the room next door were smoking weed and it got into our room. Again, I called the front desk and security quickly came up and took care of the problem. The rest of our stay was pleasant. Because of pandemic rules, there was no indoor seating at the Tick Tock Diner so we ordered pickup and the food was very tasty. I don't recommend sitting outside because, sadly, that area is dirty and there were a lot of homeless people coming around. We were disappointed the Butcher & Banker restaurant was closed. We will go back for dinner when it opens again.

Exceptional

Liked: The room was large, and very clean. The view of the Empire State Building was amazing. Upon entering the hotel you were automatically screened for your temperature, in order to avoid an infectious (covid-19) patron from entering. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. The facility was quite, which made it feel more private; nevertheless the rooms were spaced out enough that if you were loud, you would not be bothering anyone else on the floor. I?ll recommend this place to everyone.
