Disliked: Lots of flies (it is summer!). Breakfast poorer than last time we stayed, not freshly cooked and some items not available.

Liked: The location and cleanliness.
Disliked: The receptionist who booked us in. Having to ask for toast and additional butter at breakfast. Hot breakfast was only warm at best. No offers of coffee refills. Quality of the breakfast wasn’t great. Bedroom doors slamming shut all night. People standing in the corridors taking loud into the early hours. Flies were a constant nightmare; wherever we went in the hotel the flies attacked!

Liked: Room size, ambiance,location in lovely building in beautiful village.Comfortable bed.
Disliked: Poor maintenance in room. Window catch was insecure in ground floor room. It could easily be forced from outside would not have slept here if we had known the night before but only found it in the morning when opening the window for fresh air.. No room safe for valuables. Poor finish on paintwork and furniture. Lampshade damaged and stained. Paint on bathroom floor. Mould on grout around bath. Room needs a massive injection of light either from lighting or painting or both.Breakfast poor quality cheap sausages, watery scrambled egg and only luke warm. They said someone had switched off power but did not let anyone know until I chased up my missing latte after it didn't appear after 20mins. Stood beside kitchen door and saw staff member lick her fingers putting toast in rack and then took it to customer in dining room. Glad it wasn't my toast. Table for 4 missing 2 forks and cutlery to spoons. Staff all young and seemed to need someone to train them and direct a coherent efficient breakfast service. There seemed plenty of them but they need to understand a customers requirements and what they can do to help.Get a fly zapper it was horrible being constantly buzzed by about 5 fly at breakfast and everyone else seemed to be having to do the same. The pest cards I spotted on the cabinet near kitchen are NOT working.

Liked: Very helpful staff and a lovely quiet room. Although there was a wedding we did not hear it!
Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Both Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were superb. Loved our meal in the hotel. Air Conditioning in both the restaurant and bedroom was much appreciated (and needed)nduring the heatwave.
Disliked: Unfortunately there were many flies and wasps that spoiled a drink outdoors.

Liked: Location and immediate grounds beautiful. Very remote/out of the way of towns. The evening meal was exceptional, also my husband had a full English breakfast which he fully enjoyed. Extras bread, fruit and yogurt really niceThe room was comfortable nice and clean. The staff were mostly very helpful.
Disliked: View from room was limited and room a bit small.I found the eggs Benedict for breakfast was disappointing. No where to go on foot outside of the hotel.Would very much benefit from a swimming pool I believe
