The Melville Hotel Kings Cross

Really great stay overall would...

Liked: Ease of booking - ease of check-in on arrival. Bijou and tastefully decorated -staff friendly
Disliked: The bed was against the wall/ radiator with only access from one side of bed .

Big price, low quality

Liked: Good location
Disliked: Poor quality furniture, rooms ugly and dated, fan broken and everything clearly very cheap.

Not worth it

Liked: Location
Disliked: We were given a tiny damp room covered in dust, dirty, there was trash behind the bedside table and even nails on the sink in the bathroom. We had to complain 2 times for them to move us to other room on the second night.

Could have been better with...

Liked: Convenient close to Kings Cross and tube
Disliked: Room very shabby curtains hanging off rails mattress needs replacing , inadequate utensils etc in kitchen no hand towels

Passable

Liked: Nil
Disliked: The room was very compact and the fan provided did absolutely nothing. The window shutters were broken. The bathroom smelt musty with no ventilation. I wouldn’t stay here again for the price.

Perfect stay for a night...

Liked: Check in was very easy, the location was perfect, 5 minutes to the King’s Cross line. The decoration was lovely in the reception. The staff were super friendly and let us keep our bags at the hotel until late in the evening.
Disliked: The room was small but enough for two people. The weather was hot on the day we stayed so the room was very warm as the air conditioning fan wasn’t the best.

Disliked: They only changed our towels because we asked for it and we also have to ask for toilet paper , they didn’t clean the room in 4 nights we stayed there

Liked: The building was in a good place.
Disliked: It was dirty, windows didn’t stay open (used a toilet roll the prop!), no aircon, fan in room was less than useless. Room very dusty. Pictures on Booking.com completely misleading, using the Roxy name but nothing else carried over!

Good

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful, it was very close to St. Pancras and able to use the underground to get about easily.
Disliked: The room was alot smaller than what we thought, It can't be helped but we had a park view which was noisy with older teens at night and then alot of building work started early morning. Room stated it had air conditioning but only had a fan that wouldn't stand up properly. Generally the building needed abit of TLC and sprucing up as it could be beautiful.
