What People Say

Reviews often highlight the hotel’s quiet rooms despite being in a busy area, and the friendly, professional staff who go above and beyond. Many appreciate the luxurious touches like Egyptian cotton sheets and premium toiletries.

Areas for Improvement

Some travelers mention that while the hotel is luxurious, certain areas feel slightly dated compared to the modern branding. Others note that on busy weekends, check-in can be a little slow. However, these are minor points in an otherwise top-tier experience.

Nice choice but have breakfast...

Liked: Great location (main reason), clean and spacious room, hotel building, window view - basically everything. Staff was very helpful at the check-in and with questions, but not later. They seem to be really pressured and understaffed (see below about breakfast). The Mayfair bar is also very nice, with great cocktails. Bed was the best, fluffy pillows, good sleeping experience.Bath amenities would expect better from this hotel level (I don't need a bag for bathroom floor mat haha, I'd appreciate better cosmetics, full sized, and extras from a 5*) but I had everything I need, so still a plus.Windows, floors, carpets have seen a while of times, which might bring some charm even but should be reflected in price adjustments.Overall, be aware it is max a 4* coated in its historical location to disguise as a 5*.
Disliked: Main reason it's 7 (to be best of judgement) was the breakfast situation. DO NOT rely on easy and quiet breakfast in the morning! Do not expect variety of foods or calm relaxed atmosphere. First morning of stay I had to wait for whole 19 min in a line for getting a breakfast seat (prepaid one), there was an absolute mayhem of people definitely exceeding capacities of the restaurant. Not just a wait, a real mess. It's first time I see such a thing in a hotel honestly, let alone a 5*.I got seated, put some water to mark my spot (!) and went to search for food - only to return with a full plate to see other people being SEATED there by staff (not by themselves!), my water and napkins removed. That was pretty audacious. I explained that the seat was assigned to me after a long wait however manager just smiled with muffled sorry. Another staff member found me a small place in a dark corner after, I didn't eat and simply left after a coffee to a better breakfast place. Nothing, absolute zero effort was done to handle the situation with me. Day two I came earlier to skip the rush, was less people and I finally got to taste food, which was very limited in options and plain. Coffee arrived after I finished food, it only took them 20 minutes (without a rush hour).I would say breakfast & staff reactions ruined to me the whole experience of staying there. If I chose to eat anywhere else, I'd absolutely love it, but here we are.
