Cozy and Comfortable and truly...
Liked: It felt like truly staying in Pittsburgh. The building while old has been renovated and maintained. There's a lot of history in the architecture and doesn't feel like a typical hotel room. Highly recommend, and would stay here next time without question!

Disappointing
Liked: Good location
Disliked: Might be the loudest air-conditioning system I've ever experienced. Room wildly fluctuated in temperature. There's also nowhere in the building to grab a drink or a snack - even a vending machine would be an upgrade. Also no fitness room.

had bad time here
Liked: I liked only the location. Located in shadyside good area.
Disliked: It’s a very small hotel with no fresh air inside the rooms. They only clean when you’re checking out. They call themselves a digital hotel, but there’s nothing digital about it, just staff working remotely and using that as the label. We also had troubles with checking in. Service was so aweful and very slow. Highly not recommennded

Would definitely stay there again
Liked: Very clean. Many amenities in the room. Quiet and comfortable. I felt I was the only one in the building. Very secure also!
Disliked: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

I Really Wanted to Like...
Liked: We really wanted to like this property. We liked the concept of virtually checking in, some restaurants/coffee shops/stores were within walking distance, and it appeared to be an older building with charm. The Maverick had a bar/restaurant on the main floor that seemed very popular at night. The hotel did not offer parking. There are approximately 10 parking spots in front of the hotel with a limit of 2 hour paid parking. (I believe parking from 10 pm to 8 am is free.) I was told there was a paid parking lot within walking distance to the hotel if we were unable to find street parking. Check-out was easy.
Disliked: I requested an earlier check-in time and never received a response. On Saturday evening, I requested new towels via text and I never received a response. Although the concept of a virtual check-in is appealing and easy, this is just another reminder that there’s nothing better than in person communication. When we checked in, there were cup rings near the coffee maker that were not cleaned by housekeeping. There were a few pieces of rice on the carpet and rice on the door of the mini fridge. In addition, our shower didn’t drain. I had to pull up and hold the drain cover in order for the water to drain. DISGUSTING!

Pleasantly surprised with all of...
Liked: Conveniently located for where I had to go to. Self serving with electronic registration and check out. Had all of the conveniences needed on a trip. Vintage building. Nicely decorated. Good value.
Disliked: The doors leading in and out of the building are awkward. They open and close opposite of each other kind of trapping you in between them when bringing luggage up the stairs into the lobby.
