Disliked: I've stayed at other hotels in the MONTCALM chain and have no complaints. In fact, my first time in London was at the Montecalm chain, but this was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at.The price was sky-high, and the room had no soundproofing. I could hear footsteps and people talking constantly. And finally, it wasn't my lucky day. They gave me a room right below the breakfast area. Around 6 a.m. or earlier, the commotion began, perhaps because of the staff preparing breakfast, when breakfast was served! It was an unbearable noise of falling things and footsteps. I got up immediately and booked another hotel. I was going to extend my stay for two more days, but I decided to leave.

Disliked: Not many pubs in the area but then it’s not the hotel’s fault.

Good location and quiet

Liked: It was an ideal location for the visit, Rooms are a good size with a large on suite bathroom with a bath (always a bonus these days). It was also surprisingly quite, although there is no lift just stairs. The reception staff couldn't be more helpful, especially when told we we would need to change hotel, after explaining our reasons for booking this location, the receptionist took about 10 minutes to sort out the problem
Disliked: We had room 12 which meant a lot of stairs, not the best thing for anyone with mobility issues
