The location is perfect for spending time in the theatre district and it's near Central Park, too. It felt safe, with security in the lobby. Comfortable bed, room was clean, staff were friendly. Sure, it's old and plain, but who goes to New York to spend time in the room? Would have liked a mini-fridge though, just to keep snacks and drinks cool.
Liked: Clean and quiet; friendly staff, could control room temperature.
Disliked: No mini-fridge.

Liked: The location was amazing for a stay in New York City!! It is not only in the times square area, but it also has so many of the subway stations close by that it really is an amazing hotel location. I was pregnant at the time of my stay so having things close by and tons of options to get back to the hotel (in case I needed to go back to the bathroom, BTW there is a bathroom in the lobby that works with your hotel room card so you don't have to go all the way back up to your room) was a big deal and would recommend just based on location.
Disliked: The hotel and room itself are not in the greatest condition. The lobby is good, but then it goes downhill from there. The hallways to the rooms are dark and everything looks very old and not updated. The room itself is small and also in desperate need of an upgrade. However I have stayed in similar or worse hotels in Manhattan that do not have the same great location, so overall I think this was a great stay.
