The Manhattan at Times Square By IHG

The location is perfect for spending time in the theatre district and it's near Central Park, too. It felt safe, with security in the lobby. Comfortable bed, room was clean, staff were friendly. Sure, it's old and plain, but who goes to New York to spend time in the room? Would have liked a mini-fridge though, just to keep snacks and drinks cool.

Liked: Clean and quiet; friendly staff, could control room temperature.
Disliked: No mini-fridge.

Disliked: Facilities are too old, dirty, and beds and pillows, you can hear what's happening in the next and above rooms.

Disappointing

Liked: We got an early check in.
Disliked: Our first room smelt moldy/musky and the bathroom sink had puke residue all over it. We went down to reception with a picture of the sink and complained about the cleanliness of the bathroom, (showed her the picture) and also the smell in the room. The lady at reception apologized, I showed her pictures of the ‘renovated’ rooms I had seen online (which is why I paid close to $400 for one night) and she said that the ‘renovated rooms’ were sold out. She apologized again and checked us into another room and gave us free ’breakfast’. Our second room was a cleaner version of the first room, very outdated and not worth the almost $400, I will not be rebooking this hotel again.

Liked: Close to Times Square. Provided the basic amenities and was clean. They provided free storage of our luggage before and after check-in and check-out.
Disliked: Reaching anyone by phone before our stay was impossible. We tried calling for a couple hours with no answer. Bathroom could use some updating. Toilet took at least 10 minutes between flushes because it took so long to refill the tank.
