The Manhattan at Times Square By IHG

The location is perfect for spending time in the theatre district and it's near Central Park, too. It felt safe, with security in the lobby. Comfortable bed, room was clean, staff were friendly. Sure, it's old and plain, but who goes to New York to spend time in the room? Would have liked a mini-fridge though, just to keep snacks and drinks cool.

Liked: The lights in the room didn't work, the bed broke they couldn't fix it and never offered to change my room so I slept in a hole all night. The phone to call the front desk didn't work, the television kept going in and out and my shower wouldn't drain. The late night staff was unconcerned and dismissed me

Disliked: To whom it may concern:I had great "pleasure" to stay at The Manhattan at Times Square for 2 nights on 29-31 July. The experience is as follows:- we arrived around 9pm and spent over 40 minutes in line at the check in. Beside there were several counters, only one person worked.- at 1.30am three men rivaled into my door. Despite DoNotDisturb sign on door handle, there was so hard knocking as if they did it with legs. My wife and 2 children woke up much much frightened. When are you checking out? - one angrily shouted at me - i said why should i leave as i have paid for 2 nights? You have to leave now - he shouted again - i said i will not leave, as my family need to rest after 14 hours flight. What is you surname? - he shouted again - i said it to him, he wrote it by pen on his palm, and all three left.- on the 2nd night i receive sms from my bank that $128 is deducted from my credit card by the hotel. I come to reception and they say - no worries, we are just checking out your credit card and will return this amount upon check out.I have stayed in thousands of hotels in 120+ countries and have never ever had such experience!Here I did not sleep for 2 nights and strongly do not recommend this hotel!Simon
