The Spotlight on The Malone

Victorian Charm Meets Modern Comfort in Belfast's Queen's Quarter

Modern yet full of character, The Malone is a beautifully renovated Victorian townhouse hotel set in the heart of Belfast’s historic Queen’s University Quarter. With 71 stylish rooms and three spacious self-catering apartments, it blends traditional Irish hospitality with contemporary design. Guests enjoy easy access to central Belfast—just 1.5 miles away—and nearby attractions like the Botanic Gardens and Ulster Museum. Complimentary parking, a chic on-site restaurant, and a lively Irish pub round out the experience.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert-goers appreciate this hotel’s peaceful yet central location. Whether you’re heading to a big-name show or a local gig, The Malone offers quick access to venues while giving you a quiet place to wind down after the encore. The City Sightseeing bus stops right outside, making transport easy even late in the evening. With a 3:00 PM check-in and 11:00 AM check-out, there's just enough flexibility to fit your schedule.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends who want to explore Belfast’s music scene together
- Solo travelers attending a dream concert or gig
- Couples looking for a romantic concert weekend
- Fans seeking a quiet recovery space after a high-energy night
- Budget-conscious music lovers who still want a touch of boutique luxury

Food and Drink Options

The Malone delivers when it comes to refueling after a show. The on-site Gallery restaurant serves elegant Irish cuisine, while The Greyhound pub is a go-to for hearty pub food and a top-notch pint of Guinness. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the pub stays open late, and plenty of eateries are within walking distance. Breakfast is served in a relaxed setting—perfect for those who stayed out past curfew.

Nightlife Options

You don’t have to go far for a good time. The Greyhound offers a modern Irish pub atmosphere with great drinks and a sociable vibe. For those looking to keep the night going, Belfast’s city center nightlife is just a short taxi or bus ride away, with an array of bars, lounges, and late-night spots to suit every taste.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s stylish interiors, attentive staff, and excellent food. The peaceful yet central location is a recurring highlight, as is the convenience of free parking in the heart of Belfast. Reviews often mention the comfortable beds and the inviting atmosphere of the pub.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that while rooms are stylish, a few feel slightly compact. Others noted that the hotel’s location is a bit of a walk from the city center—but many see that as a plus for avoiding post-concert noise.

The Bottom Line

With its stylish rooms, warm hospitality, and easy access to Belfast’s music scene, The Malone is a top choice for concert-goers looking to enjoy the city by day and kick back in comfort by night.

Little gem Hotel.

Liked: The staff were genuinely friendly and always more than ready to help and accommodate. The area is pleasant and more suburban than city on a tree lined avenue. Facilities in the hotel are modern and tasteful.
Disliked: There were a few trivial maintenance items that I mentioned to reception. Underground parking lighting could be brighter.

Lovely hotel with great staff...

Liked: The staff were brilliant. They all had a smile at all times and would do everything they could to help. I think it was Lois but she should be congratulated for such brilliant people skills that made us feel welcome and looked after. the bar in the evening had a great atmosphere with guests mixing with locals. the food was exceptional and we really enjoyed our stay
Disliked: The check in was a little slow but this was more because of guests being difficult and demanding. It was a little worrying as a first introduction but our experience was that the staff were brilliant and really wanted to do their best for the guests.
