Clean and tidy

Liked: Location was good. Breakfast lovely room ws clean.
Disliked: Small room, creaky floorboards, long wait for breakfast.

A good place to stay...

Liked: This was a good place to stay. The room was fine, the staff were good. It has a restaurant (not cheap but the food is good), breakfast is also good. Parking is interesting, it's difficult to negotiate the space between the building & the front wall but ok if your car isn't too wide. We had a Kia Sportage so there was a couple of centimetres on each side spare!

Would definitely stay again if...

Liked: Excellent location. Short walk into town centre. Staff very friendly and helpful and property very clean and comfortable. Had breakfast and evening meal and both excellent.

Passable

Liked: Restaurant was good. Room was clean and decent EXCEPT for the bed mattress which was terrible; lumpy and canted from the middle towards the edge. After staying in more than 2 dozen facilities in the past 3 weeks this was by far the worst mattress!

Perfect for an overnight stop

Liked: A beautiful old mansion house, very friendly and welcoming restaurant staff, some of the best food served for dinner with emphasis on quality and freshness. Very dog friendly.
Disliked: The car park is challenging but doable. There was some confusion over late check out. We were informed it was 12 noon when it is actually 13.30.
