The Spotlight on The Inn & Suites Omaha Near Zoo

Comfy, Convenient, and Close to Omaha’s Live Music Scene

Modern and inviting, AmericInn by Wyndham Omaha Near Zoo offers a laid-back stay just minutes from downtown Omaha’s top entertainment venues. Located right next to the famous Henry Doorly Zoo and Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium, this hotel is a smart pick for music fans who want to be close to the buzz without being in the middle of it. With spacious rooms, free WiFi, and in-room fridges, it's great for relaxing before or after a big night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert-goers appreciate the quick drive to downtown Omaha—just 10 minutes to venues like CHI Health Center and the Orpheum Theater. After the show, return to a peaceful setting that’s far enough from the late-night noise, but still close enough to grab a bite or head out again. The massage shower heads are a welcome treat after standing through a long set, and check-in starts at 3 PM, so there’s plenty of time to settle in before the music starts.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want easy parking and space to chill post-show
  • Solo travelers catching a bucket-list band with a quiet place to recharge
  • Couples looking for an affordable weekend escape
  • Fans needing a restful night's sleep after a loud night out
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want quality without overspending

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, guests enjoy a free continental breakfast—perfect if you stayed out late. You’ll find several walkable dining spots nearby, or stock your in-room fridge with snacks for after the show. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the setup works well for those grabbing a bite on the go.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more low-key, downtown Omaha’s nightlife—including local bars, clubs, and lounges—is just a short drive away. Head into town for a post-show drink, then retreat back to your comfy, quiet room. It’s a nice blend of access and escape.

What People Say

Reviews praise the hotel’s cleanliness, friendly staff, and location near top attractions. Guests often highlight the value for money and the comfortable beds—a big plus after a night on your feet. The indoor pool and sundeck also get nice mentions for relaxing downtime.

Areas for Improvement

This isn’t a luxury hotel, so don’t expect upscale decor or gourmet dining. Some rooms could use minor updates, and while the area is safe and convenient, it’s more suburban than trendy. Still, for concert-goers, it hits the right notes.

The Bottom Line

If you’re heading to a show in Omaha and want an affordable, comfy base close to the action—but just far enough for a quiet night’s sleep—AmericInn by Wyndham Omaha Near Zoo is a smart choice.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Vickie D, Omaha, visiting The Admiral Omaha Sat, 3 September 2022

I should've read the reviews before booking. Normally I do, however this time I was so excited that they were going to feed me breakfast I forgot to check everything else and then I didn't even get my breakfast.

Liked: Beds were good and comfortable. No bed bugs.
Disliked: Overfilling trash containers out front. Poor front desk help at check in. No breakfast; no ice; coffee maker didn't have a basket. Smelled of urine in the hall. TV didn't work. Door didn't shut completely on it's own. Poor lighting.

Do not go here!!!!!

Liked: Absolutely nothing. Okay. Maybe the price?
Disliked: The fact that we didn't even have a bathroom door when we first got to our room. Yeah they brought us a bathroom door but my son had to install it himself. There wasn't any door handles on any of the patio doors or the pool door. The entire booking was a total fraud from the pictures to the amenities. The pictures were fraudulent to the point zhat it showed this motel in an era. That was definitely not one we stepped into today. There were drug dealers, homeless people, and prostitutes. The fact that it's just disgusting. . You felt very unsafe. Cops were there all the time people fighting in the hallways. It was a terrible, stressful, and anxious experience. I will say however the staff that we encountered and had worked with they were helpful as much as they could be. Yeah with very little resources they had. Nobody should be staying in this hotel right now. Nobody they have a lot of work to do and I get that but they they cannot be advertising this place the way they do cuz it's fraud 100% fraud.

Terrible, unclean and out of...

Liked: The location
Disliked: The hotel was supposedly out of soap, we didn’t have toilet paper in the room when we arrived, the shower door came off and the beds were filthy. If I could give a negative below zero rating, I would! The staff also tried to talk me into one room for 5 people when I paid for two to reserve. Poorly ran and would absolutely not recommend to stay here.

A very disappointing stay at...

Liked: First i'd like to compliment both of the staff members I interacted with. Sam the manager and a young lady working the front desk. Both were kind and took care of my refund when requested. Sam also moved us rooms when our first room smelled sour and moldy. While there are MANY negatives from our stay here. I would be remiss to not point our the positive experience I had with them.
Disliked: Simply put, if you're traveling with a family, young kids, or traveling as a young female along I would highly advise against staying at this hotel. right when you arrive you are greeted in a very dirty and unkept, barley lit parking lot by a slew of sketchy looking people hanging out on the side of the building, and seemingly going inside and out of the hotel at will. I'd hate to pull into this hotel at 10pm at night after a long drive. After the 1 employee on the entire premise finished his other duties he made his way over to check me in. The lobby of this hotel felt like i was standing inside of a corner store. Forging ahead I check in and get my room key. The hotel is very old and has a very sour and moldy smell throughout the entire property. After checking into our first room, I immediately requested a move as the room had an overwhelmingly damp and sour smell to it. Luckily sam the manager was very accommodating and moved us to a room down the hall that at least smelled better but ended up being right next to the pool where people were smoking cigs. A poorly insulated window allowed for cig smoke smell to seep into our room. We opted to take that smell over the damp sour smell. Our room only had one towel and didn't have a remote for the tv. Sam the manager grabbed a remote from the room next door and gave it to us. Poor folks checking in next. I could go on and on but surly you get it by now. We were supposed to be here for 3 days but checked out after one night and got our money back. This place should be shut down or properly rated so people are warned.

Nightmare

Liked: We booked because it was so close to the zoo, had a pool and provided breakfast
Disliked: Everything was terrible!!!! The bathroom in our room didn't have a door, we had to wait 30 mins for some one to come put a lock on the sliding patio door to the courtyard, the air conditioner leaked all over the floor, there weren't any mattresses or bedding on the bunk bed instead there was a larger mattress with out bedding leaning up again the wall I was told to put on the floor. The bunk bed frame had a huge stain on it. Exposed electrical cords. I had to ask 4 times for bedding for that mattress and didn't receive them until after 9 pm, we have small children who were long ready to sleep. I was promised a refund and didn't receive it. There was drug paraphernalia on the ground outside the pool. There were homeless people living in the utility closets going in and out the side doors. They never came and brought new towels or took the trash. The breakfast was not as described they only had about 1/4 of what was photoed and listed. The pool is much smaller than the photos and was extremely cold and disgusting around it.

I would never recommend this...

Liked: Only think I like about this place was that it was so close to the Omaha Zoo
Disliked: Worst place I have ever stayed at. I was not given the room I booked and was told better room on the first floor than second floor. There was no hand soap provided at all and when I went to ask the front desk they said that don’t have hand and gave me body gel. The place smelled very musty. Couldn’t sleep due to floor above me were so loud all night long. There was no breakfast even though it said it had complementary breakfast. Went to take a shower and there was no shampoo, conditioner or body wash in the pumps provided. Holes in the towels in the towels, stains on the towels and even blood on the towels. There was also blood stains on the sheets if I had seen that before I went to sleep I would’ve never stayed there in the first place. My mistake was not reading the reviews. Also cops came there a couple of times.
