The Spotlight on The Hoxton Holborn

Stylish Boutique Base in the Heart of London's Music Scene

Modern and effortlessly cool, The Hoxton Holborn sits in a restored Grade II-listed building in Central London. Just minutes from the vibrant neighborhoods of Covent Garden, Soho, and Oxford Street, this hotel combines industrial charm with boutique comfort. With Holborn Tube Station only a short walk away, getting to major concert venues is a breeze.

Rooms range from cozy Shoeboxes to spacious Biggy options—all featuring rainfall showers, luxe leather accents, and thoughtful touches like free milk, water, and a fridge you can stock from the lobby shop. The lobby is a warm, inviting space with comfy seating, a bustling coffee bar, and the popular Rondo restaurant serving up seasonal dishes and standout wines.

Why Concert-goers love it

You're within easy reach of some of London’s best live music venues and late-night hotspots. With Holborn and Tottenham Court Road stations nearby, late-night transport is reliable and simple. The vibe is lively but not overwhelming—perfect for winding down after a gig. The flexible check-out at 12:00 PM means you can sleep in after a late night, and the noise levels are low enough for a good rest.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to explore London’s music and nightlife
  • Solo travelers ticking off a dream concert
  • Couples making a stylish weekend of it
  • Fans wanting a quieter, design-forward stay after the show
  • Budget-conscious concert-goers who still want comfort and location

Food and Drink Options

Rondo, the on-site restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily—and yes, room service is available so you can dine in after a long night. The inviting lobby coffee bar is perfect for a post-show caffeine fix or light bite. While there’s no 24/7 dining, the central location puts you within walking distance of late-night eateries in Soho.

Nightlife Options

You're surrounded by some of London’s best nightlife—from cozy pubs to buzzing cocktail lounges. While there’s no live music on-site, the hotel’s proximity to Soho and Covent Garden means top nightlife is just around the corner. The hotel bar at Rondo also offers a great wine selection and relaxed atmosphere for pre- or post-concert drinks.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s central location, stylish interiors, and friendly staff. Many highlight the comfort of the rooms, especially the rainfall showers and plush bedding. The design-forward aesthetic, local artwork, and welcoming lobby space get frequent praise.

Areas for Improvement

The Shoebox rooms are compact—great for short stays, but maybe a tight fit for those with lots of luggage. While there's no live music at the hotel itself, the surrounding area more than makes up for it.

The Bottom Line

With a prime location, stylish rooms, and a laid-back vibe, The Hoxton Holborn is an ideal base for concert-goers looking to mix music, nightlife, and comfort in the heart of London.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

experience I would never want...

Liked: - the hotel location is in the great place to be- the hotel and the bar are lively and stylish, making it a nice spot to have drinks with friends.- the hotel staff tried to make a kind gesture by giving us a room with a window facing the front, but unfortunately, the windows are locked and cannot be opened. and if you think that locked windows mean people can’t access the outside terrace, well.. :) you are wrong! there is a terrace right outside where people can walk by freely. this is also a serious privacy concern — if you leave the curtains open after a shower and start getting dressed, don’t be surprised to find someone looking straight into your room.
Disliked: - I regret not paying enough attention to the room size and being misled by the photos. there’s barely any space to open a medium-sized suitcase. if you manage to open it somehow, it blocks almost all the walking space in the room, and you have to step over your suitcase every time you pass.- the glass panel installed for the shower is completely ineffective. whenever you take a shower, the water spreads all the way to the toilet area. we placed the bathroom mat as far away as possible to avoid it getting wet, but it still ended up soaked. I have no idea how the person who designed the bathroom thought the water wouldn’t splash outside. taking a shower in this hotel is nothing but a struggle. see the photos I attached.- the lights and LED fixtures in the hotel room have contact issues. from the first day, the mirror lights flickered or didn’t turn on, and we had to turn the switch on and off again and again to make them work. the reading lights by the bed felt like they could fall apart at any moment when you moved them. they are definitely not sturdy and keep wobbling.- upon check-in, the hotel charged me an additional deposit of £50 per night, so I paid £100 on top of the accommodation fee. this was the first time I’ve experienced such a practice at a hotel. they said the deposit would be refunded upon check-out, but it’s been a week since I left the hotel and I still haven’t received the refund on my card. of course, I didn’t expect an international refund to be instant, but blocking £100 without explaining what to do if the refund doesn’t come through creates a very poor experience. it only increases dissatisfaction. I suggest, the hotel management urgently needs to stop this practice.overall, this was a disappointing experience. I truly hope the hotel management addresses these problems and improves the guest experience.

Liked: Good location
Disliked: I didn’t like the fact that there was never any room to sit in the lobby because this hotel lobby is a meeting place for people in the community who sit in the lobby with a laptop to do their work

Very good location but poor...

Liked: The hotel has a great vibe and I had a comfortable room. I’ve stayed there a number of times.
Disliked: The breakfast quality has really gone down. For a hotel restaurant at this price point to not have any plain yoghurt available is unacceptable. I had to get up and leave and go have breakfast somewhere else. Unfortunately a reason not to go back again.

Great hip hotel for a...

Liked: Great location in the city, we came for a weekend to go to a west end show and could walk to that and other sights, but it wasn’t in the super busy center so was quiet and could sleep well - ideally situated. Staff super helpful. Hotel very clean, stylish, hip.
Disliked: It was a little overpriced in my view but maybe that’s the nature of things on a Saturday night in central London !Had the twin room for dad and a kid and it was pretty small, beds were short for a tall guy like me. So not perfect but as to be expected for a big city hip hotel
