The Spotlight on The House of Toby

Modern Comfort Steps from King’s Cross

Stylish and compact, The House of Toby is a centrally located hotel just a short stroll from King’s Cross Station and several iconic London music venues. With its clean, modern design and thoughtful amenities, this budget-friendly spot is perfect for travelers who want a no-fuss stay in the heart of the action without sacrificing comfort.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything—and The House of Toby nails it. You’re under a 10-minute walk from King’s Cross and within easy reach of venues like Scala and the O2 Forum Kentish Town. After the encore, hop on late-night buses or the Underground to return quickly and safely. Though central, the hotel is tucked away just enough to offer a quieter night’s sleep than you'd expect. With 24-hour reception and flexible check-in from 13:30, it’s easy to drop your bags and head straight to the gig.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a budget-friendly base near London nightlife
  • Solo travelers catching a legendary artist at a nearby venue
  • Couples on a music-fueled weekend getaway
  • Fans needing a calm, clean space to recover post-concert
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who value location and comfort

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, you’re spoiled for choice with walkable cafés and late-night bites in the King’s Cross area. Grab a quick breakfast after your late night, or explore nearby pubs and international eats. Though room service isn’t available, the central location makes up for it with plenty of food options just steps away.

Nightlife Options

You’re in prime position to explore London’s vibrant music scene. With live music venues close by and an easy route to Camden's buzzing nightlife, you can keep the party going after the show. Prefer something more relaxed? There are plenty of cozy pubs and bars nearby serving local craft beers and cocktails.

What People Say

Guests love the cleanliness, friendly staff, and especially the location. Many reviews highlight how easy it is to get around London from the hotel, especially for concerts and events. The rooms are described as compact but efficient, with everything you need for a short stay.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms can be on the smaller side—typical for central London—but guests say it’s a fair trade for the excellent location. Some mention that breakfast isn’t offered on-site, so plan to grab a bite nearby. A few commented on thin walls, so pack earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

The Bottom Line

An ideal pick for concert-goers who want a clean, affordable room in central London just minutes from top venues, without the late-night noise.

Very good

Liked: The location was awesome. The room was small but cosy. I can understand when people don't feel comfortable in small rooms with a porthole but I don't mind and had a great time. I also had a really good offer and for that price I wouldn't dare complain! Would book again anytime.

Great value hotel in a...

Liked: An excellent stay in this little gem just a short away from King's Cross St Pancras. Easy to find- warm welcome from the lovely gentleman at the front desk. The room was small but very cosy- the bathroom was standard size with one of the best showers I've ever seen in a hotel. Plenty of teas and coffees, very comfortable bed. I stayed during the week and it was very quiet. I didn't get to try the breakfast but passed the buffet on my way to work in the morning and it looked amazing. I would very seriously consider staying there for leisure in the future, as it ticked all the boxes for me.
Disliked: More of a heads up for anyone with mobility issues or heavy luggage, there is no lift and the stairs are steep. Good free workout though- who needs the gym?

My stay was completely ruined...

Disliked: The staff were rude and very unhelpful. They had policies in place which I have never seen in another hotel which makes it difficult for customers
