The Hollywood Roosevelt

The hotel is great fun, but the room itself sucked. Try to request a newly renovated room upon booking.

Liked: Great staff (shout out to Antoine at Public Bar); good music at pool; nice lobby; late checkout 12:30.
Disliked: Room lighting is terrible; room had a weird smell; awful picture above bed of a junked out rocker type; very expensive room service; thin walls.

A Hollywood utopia

Liked: It was incredible. I love the pool and the food. The staff are fabulous.
Disliked: I liked everything about the property.

An absolute must stay if...

Liked: This is a location in itself Amazing history and a beautifully preserved place. Pool area is excellent. Restaurants and really good
Disliked: Not much to not like. Only had one elevator working but this is because they are upgrading them. So can’t complain

Great location, great value, wonderful...

Liked: Location was great-we had an awesome view of Grauman's and the Hard Rock cafe......and the Hollywood sign! Staff was very nice, and the food was great!
Disliked: It was cold for April! (but the kids still went swimming) :) This was a last minute stay-we had gone to Disneyland for a few days and decided to stay a couple more days due to road conditions going back home. We picked this hotel because of location to Universal Studios (another last minute decision).

Just an okay stay.

Liked: Beautiful pool area, stunning looking. Very relaxing to sit around. Generous check in and check out times.
Disliked: Reception told us pool was heated, but it was very cold on a cloudy day (we had just come from another hotel where the pool was much warmer during the same weather period). One of the two elevators not working so long waits. Bedroom floor could have been cleaner. Rooms are tired with chipped paintwork, and curtains that don't hang very straight. Would also prefer for an empty mini fridge in a hotel room but instead they had crammed the fridge and what felt like every available surface with things you could buy at an extortionate rate. Only one bedside table in a room that was sleeping four of us, just two tiny beds in one of their delux rooms. Only three bath towels when there was four of us staying. Checkout was slow. We got to the pool early one day and got sunbeds but soon after the staff were putting reserved signs everywhere so the sunbeds sat empty whilst guests that were at the pool had none to use.
