Hotel Description
Iconic Hollywood mogul meets cool, stylish enchantress at The Hollywood Roosevelt, home of the first Academy Awards in 1929. This 300-room high-rise beauty, with good bones and modern sensibilities, allows guests to sip cocktails while swimming in an outdoor pool painted by the artist David Hockney. The hotel boasts nine restaurants and several lounges, including the famous Tropicana Bar and Teddy's. All rooms sport today's must-haves, including platform beds with premium linens, flat-panel TVs, iPod docking stations, minibars and coffeemakers. Downstairs, the lobby is right out of a movie set, with grotto bar and plenty of seating for people-watching (you never know who'll stroll through). The Olympic-size courtyard pool and massage garden are both relaxing and energizing. The hotel provides a 24-hour concierge, valet parking and Wi-Fi for a fee. The business center has fax and copy facilities. The Hollywood Roosevelt, on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is 250 feet from Grauman's Chinese Theater. Restaurants, dining and entertainment venues surround the hotel. Los Angeles International Airport is 25 miles away. "Great nightlife and beautiful scenery" is how Priceline guests describe The Hollywood Roosevelt, where the "fantastic" location and "unbelievably wonderful" staff are highlights.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Ali, Vancouver Sun, 21 September 2014

The hotel is great fun, but the room itself sucked. Try to request a newly renovated room upon booking.

Liked: Great staff (shout out to Antoine at Public Bar); good music at pool; nice lobby; late checkout 12:30.
Disliked: Room lighting is terrible; room had a weird smell; awful picture above bed of a junked out rocker type; very expensive room service; thin walls.

Liked: Amazing location and character! We felt history, luxury and the exciting vibe of being in the heart of Hollywood all at the same time! We could not have picked a better Hollywood location. The pool and poolside cafe were awesome!

Pleasant - 3.35 out of 5

Rebekah Fri, 7 October 2016

Liked: Location could not be any more central
Disliked: We travelling on our honeymoon and the room the smallest of all our hotels over our 3 week trip, and our least favourite from a total of 11 different stays. No perks offered and extortionate prices. We didn't expect a lot, but a complimentary bottle of water, or a complimentary biscuit wouldn't go a miss.

Liked: Elegance and history.
Disliked: Rooms are too small, no open windows, eerie.

Exceptional - 5.0 out of 5

Kelly Mon, 28 December 2015

Liked: The staff. Everyone including the valet, front desk, concierge, bartender, and waitstaff were really awesome people. They all should be recognized for their commitment to quality service. We came into Hollywood to see The Revenant on Christmas night. XOXO
Disliked: The hotel is historic and upkeep must be very difficult, but the bathroom was icky in the corners and along the edges. There was also hair from other guests on the floor and in the sink. The rest of the room/hotel was cool, and the view was incredible.

Wonderful - 4.5 out of 5

Chelsea Tue, 8 December 2015

Liked: The history, the bar areas, the rooms, the location
Disliked: I find it troubling that the hotel would close such great areas to the hotel guests for private parties at all times during the weekend. I understand they are trying to make money, but its ashamed to shut down the entire pool bar/area and garden for event

l Prime location. Lots of heritage. Great bars/lounges and restaurants on site. Room was in excellent shape, even if it wasn't one of the newly renovated ones. Room was quite too. I'd recommend this...
