The hotel is great fun, but the room itself sucked. Try to request a newly renovated room upon booking.
Liked: Great staff (shout out to Antoine at Public Bar); good music at pool; nice lobby; late checkout 12:30.
Disliked: Room lighting is terrible; room had a weird smell; awful picture above bed of a junked out rocker type; very expensive room service; thin walls.

Liked: Amazing location and character! We felt history, luxury and the exciting vibe of being in the heart of Hollywood all at the same time! We could not have picked a better Hollywood location. The pool and poolside cafe were awesome!

Liked: Location could not be any more central
Disliked: We travelling on our honeymoon and the room the smallest of all our hotels over our 3 week trip, and our least favourite from a total of 11 different stays. No perks offered and extortionate prices. We didn't expect a lot, but a complimentary bottle of water, or a complimentary biscuit wouldn't go a miss.

Liked: Elegance and history.
Disliked: Rooms are too small, no open windows, eerie.

Liked: The staff. Everyone including the valet, front desk, concierge, bartender, and waitstaff were really awesome people. They all should be recognized for their commitment to quality service. We came into Hollywood to see The Revenant on Christmas night. XOXO
Disliked: The hotel is historic and upkeep must be very difficult, but the bathroom was icky in the corners and along the edges. There was also hair from other guests on the floor and in the sink. The rest of the room/hotel was cool, and the view was incredible.

Liked: The history, the bar areas, the rooms, the location
Disliked: I find it troubling that the hotel would close such great areas to the hotel guests for private parties at all times during the weekend. I understand they are trying to make money, but its ashamed to shut down the entire pool bar/area and garden for event
