The hotel is great fun, but the room itself sucked. Try to request a newly renovated room upon booking.

Liked: Great staff (shout out to Antoine at Public Bar); good music at pool; nice lobby; late checkout 12:30.
Disliked: Room lighting is terrible; room had a weird smell; awful picture above bed of a junked out rocker type; very expensive room service; thin walls.

Liked: Classic Hollywood hotel that’s been updated in all the right ways. Very comfortable huge room, lovely pool area and good on site food and bar options.
Disliked: Crowded pool area so get in early. Avoid the Cabana rooms and stay in the tower for peace and quiet and a bit more space. No early check in available and my original room still wasn’t ready about 30 mins after check in time. I was ‘upgraded’ to Cabana room which was right behind pool bar and it was loud with kitchen pack up and set up noise into night and early morning so avoid those rooms if possible. I was promptly moved to tower the next day and had a delightful stay from then on.

Beautiful historic hotel of bygone...

Liked: Really loved the history of the building, they kept everything as authentic as possible, really giving you the feeling of old time hollywood.
Disliked: Rooms for very lovely, but they were a little smaller than I had hoped for. This is probably due to the fact that it's an old hotel, and they can only do so much with the floor plan.
