The Spotlight on The Herald by LuxUrban

Midtown Style Just Steps from the Music

Modern and sleek, The Herald by LuxUrban puts you right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Just blocks from Penn Station, Times Square, and the Empire State Building, it’s a stylish urban base that’s as convenient as it is comfortable. With a rooftop terrace, on-site restaurant, and easy access to major concert venues, this hotel makes pre- and post-show life easy.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re within walking distance of some of NYC’s biggest music venues, including Madison Square Garden and Times Square theaters. The hotel’s central location means late-night subway rides or pricey rideshares aren’t necessary. Rooms come with soundproofing and air conditioning, helping you recover from a loud night out. Plus, check-in starts at 3:00 PM, and with a 24-hour front desk, late arrivals are no problem.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends heading to a show and looking for places to hang out nearby
- Solo travelers who want to be close to the action but still feel safe
- Couples making a music-filled weekend out of it
- Fans who need a quiet, comfy spot to recharge after the encore
- Budget-conscious music lovers who still want a trendy Midtown vibe

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and bar make grabbing a bite before or after your show super convenient. While there’s no 24/7 room service, you’re surrounded by walkable late-night eats—from classic NYC pizza joints to modern fusion spots. The shared lounge and rooftop terrace are great for a nightcap or pre-show snack, and local cafes offer solid breakfast options after a late night.

Nightlife Options

From dive bars to rooftop lounges, your nightlife starts right outside the front door. The hotel bar is a chill spot for winding down, and nearby venues offer everything from jazz to EDM. Whether you’re looking for a wild night out or a quiet drink with a view, Midtown has you covered.

What People Say

Guests love the central location, especially for walking to concerts and Broadway shows. Many mention the friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, and surprisingly quiet atmosphere for such a busy part of the city. The rooftop terrace is often highlighted as a hidden gem for relaxing.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are on the smaller side—as is typical for NYC—so pack light if you’re coming with a crew. Some guests noted the elevators can be a bit slow during peak hours. Not a dealbreaker, just plan ahead if you’re rushing to a show.

The Bottom Line

If you want to stay close to the music without sacrificing comfort or style, The Herald by LuxUrban hits all the right notes.

Great location !!!!

Liked: Location is the key point of this hotel, for the prices you pay in NYC. Very central and a metro station just yards from there, lots of places to eat and many amenities around like the Empire State Building.
Disliked: The rooms are a bit tired.

It would have to be...

Liked: Location was the only thing going for it.
Disliked: No towels in room on arrival, had to ask for them. No cups or tumblers in room at all. No soap. My son was drying himself on a towel and it was so thin, it ripped while drying his back.

Overall, an okay hotel in...

Liked: The location of the hotel was excellent – everything important was within walking distance and the transport connections were great. The room was fine overall, and a big plus for having four windows that let in plenty of natural light and fresh air. Also loved the fact that there was an iron and ironing board in the room – very handy! Housekeeping was excellent throughout the stay, and there were always enough towels
Disliked: During the hottest days (+36 °C), the air conditioning struggled a bit, but it still managed okay. The Wi-Fi was a bit unreliable and only worked occasionally, which was a minor downside. Glad we had e-sims.

Hotel failed to provide basic...

Liked: Central Manhattan NYC mid-town location, very close to subway station and Penn train station and convenient for many food options next to Korean Town. The staff generally tried to help, but lack of basic resources like towels and internet support could not be provided. Special mention to Chris on nightshift who was outstanding, listening to our complaints with care and tried to move us to a better room but was failed by his colleagues who did not action.
Disliked: Constant shortage and rationing of towels from the first day. Allocated double room on top 17th Floor where the air conditioning was struggling to work and get room temperature below 80F / 27C; with no wifi routers working on the floor, the internet connection was intermittent and weak barely above 1Mbps - not the hi-speed as advertised which was only available in the reception area; and the ice machine on the floor was out of order (only one machine working in the building on the 7th Floor. During the weekends on Friday and Saturday night, there is constant echo of dance music from the adjacent rooftop bar which shares the neighbouring lifts.

All in all, it was...

Liked: Good location - in the middle of Manhattan, easy to reach everything
Disliked: Very expensive for what you get, but I guess that‘s New York. We had to ask three times to get fresh towels as there were non at our arrival. At the reception they were friendly, but didn‘ t really seem to be interested in what we wanted. Every time when we came back, our key card didn‘t work anymore and we had to get back to the reception.
