The Spotlight on The Herald by LuxUrban

Midtown Style Just Steps from the Music

Modern and sleek, The Herald by LuxUrban puts you right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Just blocks from Penn Station, Times Square, and the Empire State Building, it’s a stylish urban base that’s as convenient as it is comfortable. With a rooftop terrace, on-site restaurant, and easy access to major concert venues, this hotel makes pre- and post-show life easy.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re within walking distance of some of NYC’s biggest music venues, including Madison Square Garden and Times Square theaters. The hotel’s central location means late-night subway rides or pricey rideshares aren’t necessary. Rooms come with soundproofing and air conditioning, helping you recover from a loud night out. Plus, check-in starts at 3:00 PM, and with a 24-hour front desk, late arrivals are no problem.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends heading to a show and looking for places to hang out nearby
- Solo travelers who want to be close to the action but still feel safe
- Couples making a music-filled weekend out of it
- Fans who need a quiet, comfy spot to recharge after the encore
- Budget-conscious music lovers who still want a trendy Midtown vibe

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and bar make grabbing a bite before or after your show super convenient. While there’s no 24/7 room service, you’re surrounded by walkable late-night eats—from classic NYC pizza joints to modern fusion spots. The shared lounge and rooftop terrace are great for a nightcap or pre-show snack, and local cafes offer solid breakfast options after a late night.

Nightlife Options

From dive bars to rooftop lounges, your nightlife starts right outside the front door. The hotel bar is a chill spot for winding down, and nearby venues offer everything from jazz to EDM. Whether you’re looking for a wild night out or a quiet drink with a view, Midtown has you covered.

What People Say

Guests love the central location, especially for walking to concerts and Broadway shows. Many mention the friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, and surprisingly quiet atmosphere for such a busy part of the city. The rooftop terrace is often highlighted as a hidden gem for relaxing.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are on the smaller side—as is typical for NYC—so pack light if you’re coming with a crew. Some guests noted the elevators can be a bit slow during peak hours. Not a dealbreaker, just plan ahead if you’re rushing to a show.

The Bottom Line

If you want to stay close to the music without sacrificing comfort or style, The Herald by LuxUrban hits all the right notes.

Great location and room size...

Liked: The location was great. The room size was very good. With a king bed and a small lounge area. Close to Time Square and the Subway was just outside. The safe had to get reset and that was handled immediately.
Disliked: No towels or bed top sheet and/or quilt cover available. Were told we could buy our own and would be reimbursed on the 1st day as there was a problem with their supplier. When we went to buy our own on the 2nd day we were told they were in and would be sent to our room. They were not and we had to go down and ask for them. Apparently they were only being handed out when asked that night. When I emailed the Manager, Victoria regarding the bedding, she advised me that their standard practice was to only supply bottom sheet and a bare quilt. I was horrified. ( If they can't get clean towels how the hell were they washing quilts between customers) Day 3 we received clean sheets and cover on quilt. When I emailed Victoria to say we had received proper bed coverings and a photo saying that this is their standard practice, I received no reply. She had promised 10% refund for each night we had no towels but would not cover the cost of us buying a top sheet or quilt cover. We are yet to receive any refund. I won't be holding my breath. The lobby staff were mostly uninterested and certainly unhelpful. When advised the telephone in room didn't work we were advised they were aware and that it wouldn't be fixed.

TERRIBLE

Liked: NOTHING
Disliked: EVERYTHING! They canceled our booking when we arrived!! Told us they e-mailed me in the afternoon but didn't receive any e-mail! They didn't let us know.. NOTHING. They didn't help us at all. They gave me the e-mail of 'the manager' but never got any response. It was already 8pm when we had to search for another hotel.. They do it to everyone who booked through booking. NEVER BOOK THERE!!!

The worst property I stayed....

Liked: The location was great.
Disliked: The room was full of dust everywere, but we had clean sheets. The floor was dirty. The furniture is outdated, so old.We didn't had shower gel or shampoo for the entire duration of our stay (11 days). They said they don't have, but will arrive soon. We asked for many times for shower gel but we got the same answer. We had to buy from the store. The internet (wifi) was terrible. And also the internet was down for several days. The fridge was not working and smell terrible inside. I told them is not working, they said will fix it, but nobody came.I don't recommend this hotel.

Really bad, just don’t.

Liked: Location
Disliked: We actually didn’t stay here because we left as soon as we saw the room. The walls were stained, there was a foul odor coming from somewhere (possibly mildew), and there were no towels! Bed sheets were questionable as to whether they were washed and door didn’t properly lock. Felt incredibly unsafe and when we complained the girl at the front desk barely looked up from her phone as she shrugged her shoulders.

Disappointing

Liked: I only liked the location in midtown Manhattan.
Disliked: The room is not always cleaned properly, the room cleaning service knocks on the door at 8.30 in the morning.... The furniture is insufficient, there is not even a wardrobe, and the rest Is partly broken. The spaces and services for customers are very limited. The staff is not always particularly kind with the guests.
