The Spotlight on The Herald by LuxUrban

Midtown Style Just Steps from the Music

Modern and sleek, The Herald by LuxUrban puts you right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Just blocks from Penn Station, Times Square, and the Empire State Building, it’s a stylish urban base that’s as convenient as it is comfortable. With a rooftop terrace, on-site restaurant, and easy access to major concert venues, this hotel makes pre- and post-show life easy.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re within walking distance of some of NYC’s biggest music venues, including Madison Square Garden and Times Square theaters. The hotel’s central location means late-night subway rides or pricey rideshares aren’t necessary. Rooms come with soundproofing and air conditioning, helping you recover from a loud night out. Plus, check-in starts at 3:00 PM, and with a 24-hour front desk, late arrivals are no problem.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends heading to a show and looking for places to hang out nearby
- Solo travelers who want to be close to the action but still feel safe
- Couples making a music-filled weekend out of it
- Fans who need a quiet, comfy spot to recharge after the encore
- Budget-conscious music lovers who still want a trendy Midtown vibe

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and bar make grabbing a bite before or after your show super convenient. While there’s no 24/7 room service, you’re surrounded by walkable late-night eats—from classic NYC pizza joints to modern fusion spots. The shared lounge and rooftop terrace are great for a nightcap or pre-show snack, and local cafes offer solid breakfast options after a late night.

Nightlife Options

From dive bars to rooftop lounges, your nightlife starts right outside the front door. The hotel bar is a chill spot for winding down, and nearby venues offer everything from jazz to EDM. Whether you’re looking for a wild night out or a quiet drink with a view, Midtown has you covered.

What People Say

Guests love the central location, especially for walking to concerts and Broadway shows. Many mention the friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, and surprisingly quiet atmosphere for such a busy part of the city. The rooftop terrace is often highlighted as a hidden gem for relaxing.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are on the smaller side—as is typical for NYC—so pack light if you’re coming with a crew. Some guests noted the elevators can be a bit slow during peak hours. Not a dealbreaker, just plan ahead if you’re rushing to a show.

The Bottom Line

If you want to stay close to the music without sacrificing comfort or style, The Herald by LuxUrban hits all the right notes.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

The room and location were...

Liked: Excellent location, making it easy to get around the city. The room was spacious, which is not always common in New York, and the bed was comfortable, providing a great night's sleep.
Disliked: Overall, our stay was good, but there were some issues that were very disappointing. There were no towels available for the guests when we checked in. I was informed that the towels would arrive later that night, but even after waiting until late, they never arrived. The next morning, there were still no towels. Since I was traveling with my senior parents, my husband, and my young son, I had no choice but to go out and buy towels myself. In addition, there were no linens provided for my son’s bed. We were given an email address to contact the manager about these problems, but I never received a response or any kind of compensation.

Nothing Lux about this hotel.

Liked: Location is the only good thing.
Disliked: The photos posted online look nothing like the hotel. The photos look glamorous, but the hotel is beaten up badly. Shortage of towels. Spells of only cold water in shower. Holes in linen. Marks on headboards. Looks dirty inside room. No shampoo, shower gel provided for duration of stay. Homeless person sleeping outside the hotel. The safe in the room wasn’t even fastened to the wall. This is a disaster of a property.

Passable

Liked: The location is great
Disliked: They don't have enough towels for all the rooms so we couldn't shower the first day even though we traveled for over 15 hours... I kindly asked the reception for a solution but they were rude and didn't care. I would not go back to this place
