The Spotlight on The Herald by LuxUrban

Midtown Style Just Steps from the Music

Modern and sleek, The Herald by LuxUrban puts you right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Just blocks from Penn Station, Times Square, and the Empire State Building, it’s a stylish urban base that’s as convenient as it is comfortable. With a rooftop terrace, on-site restaurant, and easy access to major concert venues, this hotel makes pre- and post-show life easy.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re within walking distance of some of NYC’s biggest music venues, including Madison Square Garden and Times Square theaters. The hotel’s central location means late-night subway rides or pricey rideshares aren’t necessary. Rooms come with soundproofing and air conditioning, helping you recover from a loud night out. Plus, check-in starts at 3:00 PM, and with a 24-hour front desk, late arrivals are no problem.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends heading to a show and looking for places to hang out nearby
- Solo travelers who want to be close to the action but still feel safe
- Couples making a music-filled weekend out of it
- Fans who need a quiet, comfy spot to recharge after the encore
- Budget-conscious music lovers who still want a trendy Midtown vibe

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and bar make grabbing a bite before or after your show super convenient. While there’s no 24/7 room service, you’re surrounded by walkable late-night eats—from classic NYC pizza joints to modern fusion spots. The shared lounge and rooftop terrace are great for a nightcap or pre-show snack, and local cafes offer solid breakfast options after a late night.

Nightlife Options

From dive bars to rooftop lounges, your nightlife starts right outside the front door. The hotel bar is a chill spot for winding down, and nearby venues offer everything from jazz to EDM. Whether you’re looking for a wild night out or a quiet drink with a view, Midtown has you covered.

What People Say

Guests love the central location, especially for walking to concerts and Broadway shows. Many mention the friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, and surprisingly quiet atmosphere for such a busy part of the city. The rooftop terrace is often highlighted as a hidden gem for relaxing.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are on the smaller side—as is typical for NYC—so pack light if you’re coming with a crew. Some guests noted the elevators can be a bit slow during peak hours. Not a dealbreaker, just plan ahead if you’re rushing to a show.

The Bottom Line

If you want to stay close to the music without sacrificing comfort or style, The Herald by LuxUrban hits all the right notes.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Disapointed by the difference between...

Liked: Location is great, 1 of the 2 rooms was comfortable.
Disliked: We had 2 rooms, one in each floor, and they were completely far off from each other. One had no wardrobe or equivalent, no proper decoration, and the entire floor looked like it had a refurbishment planned but not yet occurred. This "older" room also had a broken ice machine on their floor. The hotel simply did not have towels, and it was not upfront about it. When we arrived, none of our rooms had towels (shower and hand) and a bathroom carpet. When asked, they were provided. The next time the cleaning staff cleaned the room, they took away all the towels and did not provide new ones (there were no signs saying that would happen and asking to reutilize towels for multiple days - nor the front desk told us that - even tough they were cleaning the rooms and taking out dirty towels). When asked for new towels, we only got one - for a room with 3 people. There were 4 straight days of asking for new towels and not getting any. Some of the front desk staff were understanding and apologetic, some were quite rude. There were no general effort to help out and a multitude of different excuses were given each day: "the car that transports our towels (?) crashed", "they're still being cleaned, and we can only wash 8 at a time", "we don't provide towels for each guest, just a max of 2 per room (this one coming on our last day and making no sense at all with all that was previously stated)", etc.Saw multiple guests with the exact same problem during our stay and multiple visits to reception trying to solve the problem. To top it all, the room phone did not work to call reception, cleaning staff, room service or hotel management, so we had to go to reception physically every day and multiple times a night to try it, with vague promises of "come back in 1 hour" occurring multiple days.

I would stay here again,...

Liked: The room and location were great!
Disliked: I paid for 2 rooms and it required a $150 deposit for each room, for a total of$300. It has been 3 days and 2 business day and no return on my deposit. No one will answer the phone to ask questions. I'm concerned that I will not get my deposit back.

Bad management

Liked: Location, staff trying to be helpful.
Disliked: Had to argue with the staff to get a towel as there were none when we checked in. 3 people in room, 8 hours later got 1 towel. Rest of the 3 night stay, no one ever brought more even though they had a list of people needing towels. Ac also was barely able to cool (set point lowered to 66 when checked in and actual only dropped from 79 to 75 at its lowest.

Will not book again

Liked: The location was between Koreatown and Times square. Short walk to transportation and everything we wanted to see.
Disliked: There are no bath towels in the rooms. Was told towels would be delivered later so we waited for a few hours. We asked again and was told by another staff that they do not give towels. We had to go out and buy our own. Rooms were not thoroughly cleaned.

Warning:Terrible Hotel

Liked: This hotel not only does not have a working phone, but does not give you towels and wash rags. We stayed from Monday-Saturday and only receive one rag, and that was on Thursday. Our door would lock us out almost every time we left the room. We had to have the employees reprogram our key. Very poor service. We even found a pair of underwear in our light fixture. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Disliked: Everything except the location.
