A wonderful location to sit...

Pleasant but over priced

Disliked: For the price I think a cooked breakfast could have been included rather than charging. Also safety concerns with the hair dryer which said it’s next PAT test should have been 2014!!!

Nice hotel, loved Ventnor and...

Liked: Exceptional breakfast (but not cheap), nice room - think we had one of the cheaper rooms but had everything we needed and was a nice room. No view for us but would be good (the sea!) if you pay extra for it. Good location - Ventnor is great place with plenty of nice places to eat / drink and a nice walk down the coast. (steep hill down to the sea front)
Disliked: Nothing major to complain about but poss because we were just before the start of the main season ... No option to book dinner. It may simply have been because we booked the hotel quite late - they were full (on Tues & Wed) and they didnt have the restaurant open on Monday (it was late March). There was a great choice in the town, so we were quite happy. We weren't sure about the hotel bar but it was never mentioned at check in and we didnt feel it would be open for us so we didnt use it.

Pleasant stay

Liked: We had a pleasant stay with a nice view of the sea. Breakfast was delicious. The bath perfect. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. A little disappointed that the restaurant advertised was not open especially since 75% of restaurants in the area were also closed bizarrely on a Wednesday and in the Easter holidays.

Enjoyable stay but be prepared...

Liked: The hotel served a very good breakfast and there was a very good view from the room. Car parking was available up a narrow road at the side of the hotel, but care was needed as access was shared with Royal Mail delivery office. A torch or phone with light recommended after dark.
Disliked: Our room was at top of building, so there were a lot of stairs to climb. Bathroom door did not stay closed except when it was locked from the inside. There was a strong south-east wind during our stay and I had to wedge door in partly open position to prevent it rattling during the night. I reported this to reception, so hopefully it will be fixed.

Lovely stay, lovely helpful staff

Liked: The staff were really lovely, and the hotel is a stones throw away from the seaside and town. The shower was heavenly, bottles of water were provided, and I liked that fresh milk was in the fridge, rather than uht milk.
Disliked: The cleanliness wasn't that great. Although I will say, the issues I had, were dealt with immediately. It just seemed the room could have done with a deep clean. Inside the fridge was old milk stain marks, coffee machine had old coffee stains, it was quite dusty in parts, like it was a rush job, before we arrived. I even had to wipe down the remotes to the telly as it had old food on them. The room needs a freshen up, with a lick of paint. We didn't get to try the food sadly, but it smelt delicious! I'm not comfortable writing this, as the staff were so lovely and welcoming. But I feel I could have given 5 stars if the attention to detail was addressed.
