Disappointing

Liked: The location is good, the staff member who checked me in was very friendly and pleasant. The size of the bathroom was good (it was an accessible room), parking was easy.
Disliked: The room was on the ground floor between the bar and the kitchen - the noise from the kitchen went on until 11pm and started again at 7am, the noise from outside the window started around 7am as well with someone moving beer kegs presumably for the bar. The noise from the room upstairs was also a problem - it's an old building so every single footstep could be heard from above as well as every time they got off or on their bed. The bed in our room was tiny, luckily we are both quite slim, but anyone any bigger would have struggled. The drain in the shower was a very strange design and could easily have removed a toe if you weren't looking what you were doing - very sharp edges on the tiles and a big gap to get you toe stuck in. I didn't see any other part of the hotel my room was literally just next to Reception, I'm sure that there are lots of lovely rooms upstairs where none of these issues would have been a problem, but based on my experience I would not recommend.

Liked: Clean, comfortable and staff so friendly. Food was excellent too.
Disliked: There was nothing not to like.

I expected more for the...

Liked: The hotel was lovely and the bed was comfortable the dinner in the restaurant was excellent with good service.
Disliked: The shower was blocked which I did not find out until I was using it. Breakfast service very slow over 45 minute wait and when it came it had clearly been under a heat lamp for too long.

Definitely a green light for...

Liked: The Restaurant was superb, both for breakfast and for Dinner.The Reception staff were very approachable and extremely helpful.
Disliked: The bad lighting over the sink in the bathroom especially difficult for wet shaving.Otherwise I have absolutely no complaints.

Ok for a 1 night...

Liked: The room was small but clean and comfortable.
Disliked: The breakfast was not good quality, although presented well it was not tasty.
