Don't bother, much better hotels...
Liked: Great location.
Disliked: Wasn't allowed in the bar to grab a drink as it was full. Never known this as a guest staying at a hotel so had to venture out in the rain to find somewhere.No dressing table so my wife had to sit on the floor on a towel in front of the mirror to do her hair and make-up. This didn't do her back any good.Room was small and basic - totally uninspiring.Dirty shower head and dirty grout in the tiles.Breakfast was disappointing. Couldn't even get any toast as a staff member was monoplosing the machine for room service. But why am I even having to queue for toast in a so-called "Grand" hotel?Emailed the hotel to air these grievances (after they sent an email asking how the stay was) but after no response I find myself here, on a public forum. Ah well, proof they just don't care.

Fabulous luxury in beautiful hotel
Liked: The wonderful interior decor, especially the staircase. Mile thick carpets and original artworks. The understated but super comfortable Deluxe room with lovely extras. The stunning Madaleine bar. Above all real service which most hotels now lack (due to low-cost seeking customers).
Disliked: Being unable to order breakfast room service the night before. That said, it only took 20 mins to arrive when ordered at 7.30am

Superb
Liked: The room was excellent, clean, spacious and right next to the gym.The location could not have been better: close to shops, restaurants, bars, attractions for visitors, near the canal, the train station and the NEC!Reception staff were top: professional and pleasant.
Disliked: There was only one glitch: at breakfast on the first day of stay, we were served by someone with a strong smell of cigarettes. We were asked whether we wanted to order hot food three times by three different people, one after the other.Staff were having a discussion, with very loud voices, right in the Continental breakfast area.Not ideal atmosphere for a breakfast at 7.30am!

A nice relaxing hotel and...
Liked: very good breakfast. amazing shower. attentive staff
Disliked: heating didn’t work properly in the room. It takes a long time to hear the room. I had to call reception for the heating to be activated properly.
