Liked: Great personnel and very generous amenities. I loved that they aren't looking to get any cent out of you. Excellent location, lots of things to do around and close to the relevant places we were visiting.
Disliked: The ground had a batch below the carpet which wasn't properly balanced.

Lovely centralized hotel - be...

Liked: The staff, facilities and rooms are generally lovely. This was our second stay as we so enjoyed our first visit this past December. We loved that there were water bottles for the room, and the little touches like lemonade at the front desk, and the mats being changed for different times of day. The toiletries are good, the snacks in the room a nice touch.The bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel and rooms are very clean. The doormen are excellent.This time we tried Luka - the restaurant in the hotel - and loved it. Truly a delightful meal and a surprise.
Disliked: The noise was excruciating this trip. We were on the third floor (last time we were higher up), and street side, which we requested as we needed natural light. Unfortunately we were placed in a sometimes adjoining room and there happened to be a baby next door who screamed for literal hours the first two nights. The third night some huge disturbance happened on the street in front of the hotel at 2am - like a rave or a riot or something; blocking the street and causing a honking traffic jam of irate cars for two blocks down. This continued for about half an hour. Apart from the noise, out thermostat was inexplicably set (and apparently frozen) into the only language being what we think was Portuguese. The room became unbearably humid and warm and in the middle of the night they had to send up the gentleman from security to try to help (engineering was already gone) and he was stumped too. We eventually stumbled on getting it set to cool, but were then hesitant to touch it the rest of the weekend. (There were no other rooms available). The other very minor thing was I had to ask for a shower cap to be sent up, as the second day housekeeping did not replenish those. Not a big deal - just a nuisance. This last is purely personal preference for my spouse and I - but it might be nice if one of the two pillows for each side were somewhat firmer; both were squishy down - which is great - but didn't offer a lot of support.
