Disappointing...

Liked: location was fantastic, staff were helpful.
Disliked: Hotel is very dated and in desperate need of investment for it to have a future. The hotel is situated in a very popular beauty spot with a huge number of foreign and domestic visitors and seems to lack any enthusiasm or any want to exploit a very lucrative market. While the hotel itself was clean, the rooms and bathrooms were dated. The lift from reception area felt like it was not suitable for humans and really felt very unsafe. Breakfast was very disappointing too, buffet style breakfast, no fruit, 'hot' breakfast had some items warm and eggs and bacon was cold.Overall it was disappointing and wouldn't stay again unless significant investment was made.

Great location and historical monastic...

Liked: Restaurant and meals were nice.Breakfast room had only one waitress who was very busy and polite, helpful.I can’t fault her, she did a great job looking after everyone.
Disliked: Breakfast was basic, not many choices.3 types of juice, canned pear and peaches - no fresh fruit.Restaurant for dinner, the staff were not very attentive and a bit slow on taking our order.
