Why Concert-goers love it

Location, location, location. The Flat NYC is within walking distance of some of the city's biggest venues, including Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. Late-night returns are hassle-free thanks to nearby subway stops and 24-hour front desk support. The vibe is relaxed and quiet enough for a post-show wind-down, but you’re never too far from the next gig.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends heading to a show and looking for central, affordable digs
  • Solo travelers chasing that bucket-list performance
  • Couples planning a romantic concert weekend
  • Fans needing a quiet space to recharge after the encore
  • Budget-conscious music fans who want value without sacrificing location

Food and Drink Options

While The Flat NYC doesn’t have its own restaurant, you're surrounded by countless eateries, late-night diners, and food trucks in the Flatiron area. Grab a bite before or after your show with ease. Several nearby spots offer breakfast service perfect for that slow morning after a late night out. Though there's no 24/7 room service, the shared lounge makes a convenient spot to regroup.

Nightlife Options

You're in the middle of it all — from rooftop bars to underground lounges, there’s no shortage of nightlife. While the hotel itself keeps things quiet, you’re just steps from Flatiron’s best bars and clubs, and a quick ride from the electric scenes of Chelsea and the East Village. Whether you're looking for live music or a low-key cocktail, it's all within reach.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel's superb location, noting how easy it is to get around the city on foot or by subway. Reviewers highlight the friendly 24-hour staff, clean, modern rooms, and its overall great value for being in such a central part of Manhattan. It's often described as a hidden gem for travelers who want simplicity and style.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the rooms can be on the smaller side — pretty typical for NYC. There's also no on-site restaurant or bar, so if you're looking for in-house dining, you'll need to step out. But with so much around, that’s rarely a dealbreaker.

The Bottom Line

With its unbeatable location, clean comfort, and no-frills vibe, The Flat NYC is a smart pick for concert-goers who want to be near the action — and get a good night’s sleep after. }

A rather good budget hotel...

Liked: This is closer to a hostel than a hotel. That may work for you and your budget but be aware of what it means: the barest essentials, shared bathroom, an uncomfortable bed and very thin walls.I think reviews should be relative to the price point: this a budget option, but even so I think 3 stars overall is slightly generous. There were positive points though:- A very central and convenient location in Manhattan - The A/C unit in my room worked well- The wifi worked well- Re the shared bathroom, the water pressure and heater were acceptable
Disliked: I don’t think I had too high of expectations for this room. I knew it was a budget option for the location. That being said:- The bedroom wooden floor was not obviously dirty but somehow sticky- The bed is makeshift with slats 3 feet apart, enough to make me sink in between them. The mattress needed to be replaced.- Sharing a bathroom can be tough, especially when it’s left looking like a lake and abandoned towels- Early morning noise, especially a loud phone conversation, can be incredibly disruptive and frustrating. It's understandable that you can be bothered by the cleaning lady shouting on the phone. This can be particularly jarring when you're trying to sleep in or start your day peacefully.- You’ve to get great ear plugs as walls are very thin and there are uncivilized people

A clean and friendly place...

Liked: Great location with three subway stations nearby and easy walking distance to Fifth Avenue. The staff was very kind, everything was clean and well maintained. Shared bathrooms were always spotless and available, with two on our floor.
Disliked: No elevator and it can be noisy.
