Great one-night NYC escape locale

Liked: Loved the location and it did the trick for a night in town!
Disliked: The hotel entrance is a bit hard to understand. I was there before checkin but it was locked. So I went to Eataly down the street and waited until 4pm. I wish I had read that the bathroom is a shared dorm/hostel style. Because of this, my friend and I did not shower. So I would say this hotel is good for one night, or more if you are comfortable with that (however, be aware that the bathroom is extremely small so it might not be something you wish to use anyway).

Liked: Small room but there were more than everything we need like 2 beds, TV, even a sink. Free water bottles in a shared fridge and coffee, hot water and microwave were there.Awesome point is location. This hotel is in the middle of Manhattan.

Great location, friendly staff and...

Liked: The location of The Flat is brilliant. Short walk to Madison Square Park and The Flat Iron building one way and into Chelsea in the other direction. Ideal base for exploring.
Disliked: This may sound silly to say as it is NYC we’re talking about but the noise through my room window. It wasn’t very sound proof and most times it felt like my window was open. Not sure if it was maybe the location of my room and others may have been different but it was very noticeable.

Exceptional

Poor soundproof and uncomfortable bed.

Liked: Great location, really good bathroom even though we didn't have private bathroom. We had great room with sink in it. Which was great deal. Water in refrigerator and hot water for coffee or tea was always there.
Disliked: The bad soundproof of the windows, from the ouside, from the streets... Even ear plugs didn't help. The bed was so uncomfortable.
