Fairmont Royal York - wow! Can't wait to go back.

Liked: The friendly staff; quiet rooms and the service.
Disliked: Couldn't stay longer.

Fair - 2.5 out of 5

Liked: The location. I am not used to traveling alone and Toronto was very overwhelming for me. I was glad that the hotel was accross from the station. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Sheets were lovely
Disliked: For the price, I was surprised by the thin walls and cramped bathroom. My showerhead was bad and the drain was clogged but I was too shy to complain. I was overwhelmed and did not enjoy the scale and prestige. I guess I am just not a 4 star kinda gal.

Disliked: The breakfast buffet was hiding in the middle of the retail stores in the basement, as well as the reception desk. Breakfast is $36 for buffet, which is ridiculous. Also the evening parking was $42 and it didn?t matter whether i parked for an hour and half.

Incredible stay, well worth it.

Liked: The bed was incredibly comfortable and the staff were incredibly accommodating.
Disliked: The breakfast buffet was much too expensive. Check in time should be earlier than 4pm.

Liked: The location is perfect, downtown, right across the main train station with a good connection to the Pearson airport.
Disliked: The room overpriced. Very standard, clean but very basic. Paying more than 200 cad/night I expected something better. I have stayed in other hotels for half the price in a similar room or even better. I wish I had compared more carefully in advance.

Fantastic stay, great staff and...

Liked: Reception staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful. Room was great with a great view. It was a good size for two people and was very clean and luxurious. Room service staff were lovely and the food was good. Housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful and communal areas were well maintained. Everything exceeded our expectations and we hope to return.

Clean, comfortable, convenient location.

Liked: Soaking tub. Very very comfortable bed & pillows. Clean & tidy room. Environmental consciousness - towel recycling. Easy inside access to the PATH & go train. Lots of restaurants near by & inside. Loved that I could stay in the same place my weekend workshop course was being held in. Hotel is investing in upgrading.
Disliked: That the new renovations mean there will be no tubs, only showers. Not the end of the world but I prefer tub over shower during long stays. Though I followed instructions to hang my towels so they wouldn't be replaced (to help be environmentally friendly), they still replaced them. Piper's Pub dinner prices were more than I would have liked to pay for pub food - but it was very good. No breakfast included. The cost of breakfast buffet in adjoining restaurant was ridiculous at $34/pp - didn't eat there.
