The Spotlight on The Evelyn

Stylish Art Nouveau Comfort in the Heart of NYC

Modern meets vintage at The Evelyn, a boutique hotel nestled in Manhattan’s trendy NoMad neighborhood. Just steps from Madison Square Park and within walking distance of major NYC music venues, The Evelyn blends early 20th-century charm with contemporary comfort. From its residential-style rooms to free WiFi and thoughtful amenities, this hotel offers a stylish and convenient base for your next concert night in the city.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything—and The Evelyn delivers. You're just a short walk from major music hotspots, with the 28th Street subway station only 4 minutes away for late-night rides back after the encore. The hotel’s flexible check-out time of 12:00 PM lets you sleep in after a late night, and the quiet NoMad neighborhood provides a peaceful contrast to the city's bustle. Plus, the free luggage storage means you can keep the party going without dragging your bag around.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish home base near live music and nightlife
  • Solo travelers ticking off a bucket-list performance
  • Couples turning a concert into a romantic weekend
  • Fans needing a quiet recovery space after a loud show
  • Budget-conscious music fans who still want boutique vibes with free amenities

Food and Drink Options

While The Evelyn doesn’t offer late-night dining on-site, it’s surrounded by walkable eateries and 24-hour spots ideal for a post-show bite. Several local cafés nearby offer late breakfast hours—perfect for those slow mornings after a concert. Room service options vary, so check with the front desk for current availability.

Nightlife Options

You’re steps from some of NYC’s best bars and lounges, many featuring live music or DJs. Want to keep it low-key? The neighborhood is dotted with craft cocktail spots and cozy wine bars, ideal for winding down after a show.

What People Say

Guests praise the hotel’s unique vintage décor, quiet rooms, and exceptionally friendly staff. Travelers love the central location—close to iconic landmarks and venues—yet tucked away enough for a restful stay. The cleanliness and comfort of the rooms frequently get high marks.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that rooms can be small, especially in older parts of the building—typical for NYC boutique hotels. A few note the lack of on-site dining as a drawback, though the surrounding area more than makes up for it.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a stylish, quiet, and well-located stay after your NYC concert, The Evelyn hits all the right notes.

The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and roomy. Hotel staff was nice; the location is great!

Disliked: No closets! And the noisy renovations to the hotel. Only one elevator working.

Not a 5 star hotel,...

Liked: Great location, if you are interested in NoMAD part, still close to Times Square and all touristy stuff.
Disliked: Super small rooms even by NYC standards. Not the cleanest place (room). If you walked in your socks in the room, they would get dirty in 2 min as probably nobody washed the hardwood floor in ages. The hotel is advertised as 5star, when it fact it is a 4star.

Good location to explore NYC

Liked: Good location, staff very helpful.
Disliked: Small rooms, no wi-fi or television due to outage in that city block, not the hotels fault but very annoying.

Perfectly central little hotel

Liked: Amazing location for a trip to New York. Very central easy walking distance to Empire State Building, plenty of subways stations nearby. Staff were superb offering us water each day, we asked was it possible for a late check out which they organised. Room was very clean and bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was reasonable, nice coffee and pastry which was great for us on the go each morning meaning we had the option to try plenty of brunch places the city has to offer. All in all we would happily stay here again if we were to come back to New York
Disliked: WiFi and tv stopped working for 2 of the 7 days we were there. When talking to staff they explained it was a local area problem due to construction work so not the hotels fault, staff kept us updated in the afternoons when we returned from our day out in the city.

Very good

Disliked: One of the two elevators was out of order the whole time we were there. Fortunately we were on the 3rd floor so using the stairs was ok.The breakfast was really just a snack, choice of a plain croissant or a small egg sandwich.

Superb

Liked: The location was excellent and the bed was very comfortable
Disliked: The elevators were incredibly slow and one was broken down, so there was a lot of waiting around when going and coming to the bedroom, especially because we were on the 12th floor so couldn't use the stairs

Pretty room near Flat Iron-no...

Liked: The room was beautifully decorated, very feminine, cute music motif in the bathroom. The view by the large window was nice. The front desk staff were very friendly.
Disliked: The Wi-Fi was out my entire two night, two day stay. Pretty inconvenient when you have work to do on a laptop in the room. No functioning TV either, no big deal but when you're travelling alone it's nice to have sometimes. It would have been courteous if they'd offered some sort of compensation for the inconvenience, perhaps a refund of the "resort fee" or complimentary mini bar item or something. The bed could have been more comfortable.
