Very good
Liked: Staff were lovely, the room was spotless and the location was stunning.
Disliked: Bathroom could do with an update. The bathroom door stuck on the floor and the flush on the toilet wasn't great.

Superb
Liked: Lovely place for a stopover to explore the nearby countryside and villages. We needed a place that took dogs, and this one does. Felt looked after well by the staff. Lovely meals and lovely breakfast with a great selection of choices for both. Lovely big room with plenty of facilities and a large bath (welcome after walking on the windy moors). Great bar area with roaring fire and excellent service separate spaces to sit quietly in lovely room with pool table to chill. Lovely outside area at the back for when the weather is good
Disliked: There were a lot of reminders to keep the sheets and towels clean and dogs off all furniture even with blankets, that for someone like me, made me a little paranoid and less settled. I understand the concern, but it felt a little heavy-handed. Having said that, everything else was really lovely and would definitely recommend.

Beyond a few minor gripes,...
Liked: The staff were courteous and friendly. And welcomed our dog as much as they did us.The food was excellent.Although it initially requires some walking along a very busy and fast moving A628, once you reach and follow the bridle path towards Langsett Reservoir, you will see some stunning scenery. Our dog certainly enjoyed her walks that day (but due to her "inquisitive" nature had to remain on the lead)
Disliked: The bedroom was too hot for sleeping conditions (22degC according to the thermostat) and cannot be adjusted to individual preferences, because all bedrooms are connected to one large underfloor heating system.Even after the UFH turned off for the night and with the window cracked wide open it took a long time to get it to a more reasonable temperature.
