Exceptional

Disliked: The Hotel is fab. Only issue we had which was out of the hotels control was that we stayed on 28th June 25 and it was a scorcher of a day. Room was muggy all night.

Well presented bedrooms, public rooms...

Liked: Wonderfully authentic and atmospheric hotel, located in an architectural heritage site and located only a short walk from railway station.Food was beautifully prepared and presented. Bright public rooms all nicely decorated with fine historical prints. All staff were friendly, professional and extremely courteous. The hotel is family owned and managed by a lovely lady from Inverness who ensured that our short break was very enjoyable.
Disliked: We tend to prefer a light breakfast rather than a fully cooked one, so perhaps a wider range of fresh fruit would have suited us. Nonetheless, breakfast was rated highly due to the wonderful creamy porridge freshly prepared for us each morning by chef. Thanks.

Very very pleasant . Wonderful...

Liked: Excellent breakfast and location
Disliked: The bathroom. The shower curtain which was short hung almost over the bathtub and so kept on touching and sort of sticking to my body while showering which was annoying. It would also have been helpful to have a peg or a bar to hang the towel nearer to the tub. The T V was also at a strange angle set into the corner opposite the beg and could not be re arranged so one had to look at a tv at a 45 degree angle that is bad for the neck. I always winder why duvets are served up in summer in rooms with no air conditioning. Not that I desire the airco bit maybe a thinner covering?
