Did not stay as hotel...

Disliked: Hotel was closed on arrival having gone bankrupt four weeks previously!! Was still accepting early check-in on day of arrival, despite being closed. Beware - do NOT book!!!

Disgusting

Liked: Nothing. I turned up for my booking and the company had gone into liquidation over a month before. I was still receiving updates by email from the hotel until the day of the booking.

Exceptional

Liked: Nearly missed out on this place as had set my search criteria to ratings of 8 and above. Having stayed there now, I can't see why it doesn't have a higher rating. Lovely and helpful staff, very welcoming of my two dogs; brought them treats and water bowls. Huge bedroom and bathroom, 12ft ceilings.Love the decor, much more stylish than any other hotel I'd considered. Bathroom and shower spotless and nice victorian style sink etc. I saw other reviews complaining the hotel was too dark. It's lit by vintage style edison bulbs, so it's darker than a brightly lit travelodge, but it's plenty bright enough to stay in and it adds to the cosy atmosphere.Huge comfortable bed. Temperature controls in the room. Nice selection of tea/coffee/snacks.Interesting restaurant with delicious food. Would definitely stay again, and look for other hotels under the Flat Cap group.

More style than substance unfortunately

Liked: Great location and quirky revamp of this once courthouse make this place stand out. It's literally a few minutes from the centre of Knutsford with good parking at the front.
Disliked: Overall, this is a good choice of venue. However, we found the facilities in the room a little less practical than we would have expected. Lack of space to put things down is a major issue in the bathroom with only one small shelf - result was having to balance items on the towel rail or back of toilet which led to items ultimately being left behind! Equally in the bedroom there was only 1 side unit adjacent to the bed meaning us having to re-purpose a table that was being used to display old suitcases (lol) so we could actually use it for a practical purpose. Main mirror, for my partner, was poorly located (too high) and poorly lit but we find this is often an issue when we travel.
