A great location!

Liked: The location of The Columbia is excellent and a big draw. It is a five-minute walk to Lancaster Gate underground and directly across the street from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. While the staff are friendly and the room was clean, the hotel is looking tired and in need of refurbishment. There was a continental breakfast served each day with plenty of choice.
Disliked: No air-conditioning or fans in the room made the room very stuffy and hot given the 20+ degree temperatures. Creaky floorboards everywhere and thin walls could make it a little noisy depending who was staying in adjacent rooms.

Absolutely perfect. Right near Hyde...

Liked: We visited during the summer so it was very hot, the hotel had a fan for us to use already in the room and a big window to open and cool down. They had some cool water to drink for free next to the bar. The staff were super helpful and friendly and let us store our luggage in a locked up room until we could check in. They had a lovely area outside which is in the sun, a perfect drinking and smoking area from the bar.
Disliked: The temperature of the shower was very fluctuating to really hot and cold.

Comfortable and reasonable

Liked: The Columbia was close to Hyde Park and BST! The staff were friendly
Disliked: No ability to order food, but that’s okay food is close by

Pleasant

Liked: The location was great. Staff was friendly.
Disliked: The room did not have A/C or any ventilation. The windows would not open so it was very hot and stuffy. The stagnant air made it hard to sleep. They provided a fan but it only blew around hot air . The hotel location was great, but the lack of ventilation made it quite miserable. We were in a sweat leaving the room each day.
