Basic hotel.
Liked: On a quiet street, but about 15/20 minute walk to the nearest tube station. Self catered if you want to make food.
Disliked: We were in the basement, and it was very noisey with doors slamming and the door to the stairs banged shut, and we were next to it. Dark room, couldn't open windows. There is no dining room. Definitely not a 4 star!!

Not a good experience
Liked: The location is good.
Disliked: The first thing I found when I got into my room was that the toilet did not flush. The push button was very stiff and I made 5 attempts to flush it. I tried to phone reception but there was no information in the room to give me the number. It was not zero! I went back to reception to report the flush and was told I was the only guest who had complained about this. The receptionist eventually came up to my room, the flush worked. I tried again and eventually got it to work also. I was told to report it again in the morning as there was no one available to fix it there and then. The following morning I made 8 attempts to flush the toilet before it worked. I videoed this. I also tried to watch the television. When switched on the tv would only work on channel 8. I tried via the guide to change this but no channel worked. I tried the radio channels - nothing doing. The following morning I tried again and got the message "No digital tv signal available". I photographed this.I asked to speak to the manager when I checked out. He wasn't available. I asked for the deputy manager - neither was he/she. The daytime receptionist watched the video and looked at the picture. He apologised. I suggested that the service I had received was not that which I expected from a 4 star hotel. The receptionist suggested that that was life!! He added he would report my complaint to the manager and that he expected I would hear from the hotel. Nothing so far.I cannot fault the size of the room studio or the equipment provided. It was very clean. I slept well. The water was plentiful and hot and the evening receptionist did his best to be helpful.

Fantastic,
Liked: Lovely building, close to a high street for all amenities.
Disliked: Shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who has stayed in Central London, but the rooms aren’t completely soundproof. As your fellow travellers make their entry and exits from their rooms it is quite audible. Good thing, there was no time in a 12 night stay where I felt the noise was unreasonable or at a late time

Very good
Liked: A steal for the location when we booked. Ideally nestled between several metro stations and with some good infrastructure around. Rooms were simple but clean. Staff was friendly.
Disliked: We had a room with little light and the heating didn't seem to work which was a bit annoying.

Lovely staff, fantastic location, beautiful...
Liked: Wonderful location, lovely friendly staff, charming decor, imperfect in a way that I like - felt like being in someone's grand home. Unlike the sterile atmospheres of modern hotels. Great conveniences in rooms - small kitchen, fridge, dishes, etc. The rooms all had beautiful original period detail - huge fireplaces, gorgeous ceiling molding, small balcony off my sister's room.
Disliked: My floor, in the eves, was a bit noisy for me, but maybe not a problem for others. I'm a light sleeper.
