Hotel is lovely in a...

Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful.The hotel was very nice and very clean The bedroom was ideal and small touches like the crisps,popcorn, sweets in the room were very nice.
Disliked: The coffee served at breakfast was terrible and cold. No one explained what the protocol for breakfast was. Alarmingly there were pecan pastries sitting amongst all the other pastries and you had to use the same tongs for all. No signs stating food contains nuts. Dangerous.The afternoon Wicked themed tea was very disappointing. We sat down. Food brought to the table and no explanation of sandwiches or pastries which is always given at other hotels for afternoon tea. Coffee was cold. On requesting a second cup of coffee for some reason my cup was brought back to the table without its saucer and teaspoon. Rather strangely the waitress then went and got a paper napkin to put it on instead of a saucer. We ordered a bottle of Chapel Down sparkling wine. Lovely, but when we were given the bill it had been charged at £50 instead of the £45 as on the menu. When I queried this the waiter went to check and came back with the response that it was an old menu!! Well that was the menu I was presented with so I assumed it was £45. Not my fault. He then took £5.00 off the service charge to rectify it. Rather disappointing.

An enjoable experience due mainly...

Liked: The breakfast was excellent and the location also excellent.I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly.
Disliked: The fact that only one lift was working for six floors and the second lift was being maintaned.Although in one week there was no evidence of any maintenance. The room was ok however, without any shelves or drawers so nowhere to put shirts etc. I had to put shirts undrewhere in my baggage the whole time. The bathroom much too small und it was difficult tl get into the bath. It seems the Cleremont is all about decor with the rooms taking third place.

Liked: The location next to the railway station and tubewas great for me for getting to gatwick airport and we also had dinner in hotel at soap restaurant which is buitiful.

Liked: The location is wonderful.
Disliked: The staff are not nice, you can come in/out without any contact with them. They really do not look to your face. The room needs to be cleaner. The glasses, the cups, if you use it, you can find residues of tea and porridge at it. The pillows are not so good as well, even though I’ve asked for other ones, it seems to me to be all the same.
