The Spotlight on The Clarendon Hotel and Spa - Adults Only

Stylish Adults-Only Retreat in the Heart of Phoenix

Modern, colorful, and just a short ride from downtown Phoenix's top concert venues, The Clarendon Hotel and Spa offers a boutique stay with a funky vibe. This adults-only hotel is perfect for travelers looking for something a little different. With a lively rooftop bar, lush courtyard pool, and both cannabis-friendly and traditional accommodations, it's a bold and welcoming base for music lovers.

Why Concert-goers love it

With downtown Phoenix venues like the Convention Center and theater district less than 5 miles away, getting to a show is quick and easy. After the encore, retreat to the peaceful pool area or soak in skyline views from the rooftop. The 15:30 check-in works well for travelers arriving the day of a show, and while check-out is at 11:00, the relaxed atmosphere makes for a smooth morning wind-down.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends will love the social energy of the rooftop and poolside areas. It's also ideal for solo travelers catching a dream concert, and couples looking for a memorable weekend. The cannabis-friendly option makes it a unique pick for fans wanting a chill recovery space. Plus, rates are reasonable for budget-conscious music fans seeking style without the downtown price tag.

Food and Drink Options

There’s no shortage of flavor here. The hotel features an on-site rooftop bar with craft cocktails and small bites—perfect for post-show hangouts. While there’s no 24/7 room service, you’re surrounded by walkable eateries and late-night spots. Morning-after breakfast options are available, making it easy to refuel after a late night.

Nightlife Options

You’re just minutes from Phoenix’s best live music venues, clubs, and lounges. Or, stay in and enjoy the rooftop bar with skyline views and a sociable vibe. It’s not a party hotel, but there’s always energy in the air.

What People Say

Guests love the unique vibe, with many praising the funky decor and relaxed adult-only atmosphere. The rooftop bar and pool area are frequently highlighted as standout features. Reviewers also mention the friendly staff and convenient location for exploring Phoenix’s nightlife and entertainment.

Areas for Improvement

While the hotel’s style is bold and fun, it might not be to everyone’s taste. Some guests noted that the bathrooms could use updates, and parking can feel tight during busy weekends. Also, it’s not ideal for those needing early check-in.

The Bottom Line

A colorful, adults-only hideaway with easy access to Phoenix’s concert scene—perfect for music fans looking to mix fun with relaxation.

Liked: Staff was nice
Disliked: The restaurant and bar was closed due to the off season but it did not say that on the website or in any emails. We did not find out about that until after were checking in. The pool was not clean, and the bathrooms were falling apart.

Avoid this place at all...

Liked: The staff was very courteous and apologetic about the propert
Disliked: Everything! The only way this is a four star hotel is if it’s out of ten stars. It’s dated, our first room had chipped paint all over, rusty drains, stains on the bathtub. The “air conditioner” is really a very old swamp cooler that freezes if it’s set below 72 degrees. There’s no sign telling you that, so when we set ours for 68 and went to bed, we woke up at 1:00 am to an 80 degree room and no way to cool it down. We were moved to the next room, but it shouldn’t have been necessary. The area around the hotel is a mini skid row, with people camped on the sidewalk.

Bad

Liked: The original front desk staff was nice.
Disliked: We canceled and didn't wind up staying there and booked another room at a different location. It says hotel and spa butbthe spa was closed. The restaurant was closed aw well. There was homeless outside and in the parking lot. The description on the app does not match the booking. It was really disappointing.
