Nice situation a bit shabby.

Liked: The breakfast was awful. I think it was cooked the day before and reheated. Our waitress on Saturday night was very efficient and polite but when we arrived in the restaurant two members of staff turned their backs on us. One member of staff stank on B.O.
Disliked: Some members of staff and the breakfast.

Good

Liked: It was good value for the accommodation, which included breakfast, and the location was good next to the canal. You could sit in the nice, well-kept grounds. Most of the staff were pleasant and helpful.
Disliked: What let down our visit, we booked in advance for evening meal. We were given a time. When coming down we were shown not into the two rooms which looked like a restaurant, furnished nice with comfortable seats but into another room that was shabby with kitchen chairs which mine was torn with most of the leather gone, sticky table and the carpet was stained. We waited nearly 40 minutes for our meal. The rib-eye steak was excessively fatty, and left half of it, the peppercorn sauce, was watery. The meal was not worth the £27 paid. When the girl, asked if everything was fine , I said my wife's fish was nice, but she did not pick up I was not happy with mine, which I thought she would have but in all fareness I should have said something to her about the meal. This whole experience left me disappointed to which could have been a pleasant stay if not for booking for the evening meal.
