Hotel Description
With a garden that leads onto a lovely canalside footpath The Cheshire Cat by Innkeeper's Collection offers free private parking. A roaring log fire features in the country-style Cheshire Cat restaurant and bar which serves a seasonal menu and cask ales. All rooms have an private bathroom. Chester's historic walled city center is just a 5-minute drive away and Chester Zoo can be reached after a 10-minute drive. A refreshing drink can be enjoyed in one of the bars on the banks of the River Dee and pedalos and motorboats can also be hired within 3 miles of the Innkeeper's Lodge. Traditional wooden furnishings are provided in each room as well as a hairdryer tea and coffee making facilities and a selection of toiletries.

Fantastic quick overnight stay --...

Liked: Room was spacious, well furnished and comfortable. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious and the atmosphere relaxed and quiet.

Highly recommend

Liked: Atmosphere, buildings, canal, food and drink excellent. Nice staff and the beer garden is brilliant
Disliked: Unusual location. Obviously we knew this before booking but on a bank holiday Saturday the pub was empty at 9pm which was a shame. Excellent place, surprised there weren’t more people but maybe just a random coincidence

Best night of sleep

Liked: Everything about this hotel was so perfect for us. The location is a 40 minute beautiful walk along the canal to central Chester where we got to see the locks and moorings, the room was very clean and the mattress was amazing (firm and supportive!). We got eggs royale and brisket hash for breakfast which was lovely from their brunch menu. Cannot ask for anything better!

Good place to stay if...

Liked: Very good breakfast and a comfortable bed. Easy check-in and check-out all done online. Good choice of food for dinner and well cooked. Convenient for Chester Zoo (about four miles away). Good, attentive staff.
Disliked: We stayed in the main building which has a nice character but is in need of a little TLC. No lift (not a problem for us). Not close to any other eateries so there is little choice of where to eat.
