The Charlie West Hollywood

With a friendly staff that was helpful, a lovely location, beautiful grounds, and comfortable room, we will definitely be back for a stay at the Charlie West Hollywood.

Liked: The location was perfect for walking to many places around Hollywood. Also, the room was beautiful, the bed comfortable, and the attached deck was perfect for enjoying the weather.
Disliked: Not really.

Idyllic and super comfortable house...

Liked: This place is amazing, really well located in a very calm neighborhood that is still a short walk from all the shops and buzz. This is a Villa with several, rooms and houses named after famous people that Charlie Chaplin knew and it had a very special feel to stay there. The entire place was very tastefully decorated and had all the amenities you can think of. We LOVED the bathroom, it's funny that our favorite feature was the bathroom but it's really cute, comfy, the shower is amazing and for the bathroom singers out there, best acoustic ever!
Disliked: Absolutely nothing. I think if the price was a bit more affordable, this would be a no brainier stay for me when in LA/Hollywood area

Liked: We loved being greeted (by name) by Douglas before we even entered the gate. His help in checking us in and orienting us at the property exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Marlene suite...amazing. Loved the decor- the furniture, the floors, the art, the stained glass bits in the old style windows, and especially the small black and white tiles in the 1 1/2 bathrooms. Douglas told us how to walk to the nearby grocery store where we stocked up on supplies for the next morning's breakfast that we made in the kitchen. We brought some flowers with us but guess what? There were some already in the room. We then Uber'd to a sushi place, then returned for a relaxing (very peaceful) evening back at the Charlie. Never heard a single peep from another "neighbor" at the Charlie or from the surrounding neighborhood, even though it was the last day of a festival. The room was gorgeous, like staying in a well-kept home from the twenties, which it is (if I have my Charlie history right)! Beautiful grounds, too. Green bushes, flowers, gravel, fountains making their tinkling sounds...Staying at the Charlie is a beautiful respite in a very large city.
Disliked: Just that the parking spots are small and it is a little hard to maneuver to turn around to drive out of their gated parking area. But a landscaper/maintenance man saw us leaving and came over to eyeball the situation and tell us "we had it".
