Just outside of Penrith the Brantwood Hotel is less than 3 miles from Ullswater. Just one mile from the junction 40 of M6 it offers bedrooms with attached bathroom and TVs. With free Wi-Fi throughout the Brantwood comfortable rooms feature radios and hair dryers. There are also telephones work desks and tea/coffee making facilities. The restaurant serves light lunches and a full dinner menu which features local produce including salmon and Brantwood lamb. The bar has wines from around the world and a good selection of beers. In the peaceful village of Stainton the Brantwood Hotel is set in secluded gardens. Dalemain House and Gardens is 2 miles away while Rookin House Equestrian & Activity Center is a 10-minute drive. Nice place to stay

Liked: Liked the remote location, tucked away in the lovely countryside and was a good halfway point for an overnight stay before carrying on to Scotland the next day.Staff really friendly.Great selection of drinks at the bar.Though Room 5 was compact, it was still comfortable for two people.
Disliked: One of the wall lights was dead and one of the bulbs in the main ceiling light was also dead, so lighting in the room wasn't perfect.As the room was above the bar, could hear music until at least 11pm - if you want an early night, may be a bit distracting.
