Surrounded by 8.5 acres of beautiful grounds The Boars Head Hotel offers an à la carte restaurant and a traditional carvery. A 20-minute drive from Ashbourne it has free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. Rooms are simply designed with traditional wooden furnishings. Each has its own bathroom and features a TV with satellite channels a seating area and facilities for making tea and coffee. Food at The Boars Head is homemade using from fresh local ingredients. There is a daily specials board and a wide selection of drinks are on offer in the bar. A full English breakfast is provided each morning. Alton Towers Theme Park is a 20-minute drive away and the center of Derby is 20 miles from the building.

Ideal stay

Liked: Perfect location to get to the golf event we were attending. Rooms had everything we needed for our one night stay.staff very friendly. Food great.

Great pub stay

Abysmal

Liked: Not sure what to like about a property that allows guests to check in without having been cleaned and services. Nothing?
Disliked: It was filthy, rubbish was left stinking out the kitchen. Dirty towels, beds left with sheets on from previous guests. Bathroom dirty. We never experienced anything like this. This was escalated to customer service after trying to reach the host several times. Neither host nor b.com customer service have responded in any way that will assure me my rights within the consumer act laws are acknowledged and a refund is offered for uninhabitable acccommodation. I found out that this is a common scenario so no more bookings on this platform. What’s next? Small claims court which typically they don’t win. I did my research.Watch it coming!
