Nice location and a clean...

Liked: This was our third time staying here. The location is walking distance to the British Museum, TK Max, Soho and many other places. Dinner on the terrace was great. The room was clean.
Disliked: The bar and lobby waiting areas are beautiful but the seating needs an upgrade. It has warn out furniture that is sunken in and difficult to sit in and get out of. The reception person had poor English speaking skills and it was hard communicating with her. We had to wait for our exact check in time with no consideration for an overnight flight and early arrival, but they did keep our bags while we went to a park and Churchhill's War Room. They said they would call when the room was ready, but never did. The service seemed less attentive than last July. There were times when there was no doorman out front. The Asian restaurant across the street always had trash scattered about, making the area look bad. There are quite a few steps you need to ascend to enter the hotel, so a heads up to people who cannot climb stairs. Also, the tub/shower is one with the half shower door. It is hard for a short person to step in and out of. Water gets splashed on the floor outside the tub. The staff did not seem asnhappy on this visit compared to our last visit. Sadly, we never got the Madelines in the room this time.

Long weekend break

Liked: The location of the Property is excellent. You have the Tube stations less than 2 mins walk which gives you access to London and the wider area like Heathrow. Rooms were really nice, staff were amazing there. You can see they take pride in their work. Maria the host during the Breakfast service was lovely.
Disliked: One thing which I didn’t like was when I was checking out and I saw they had added a discretionary charge for cleaning of your room which was £25 per day. I was a little vexed about this. I questioned what it was and was told it’s to help the staff out. I said a room at £425+ a night there should be more than enough room to pay staff accordingly and shouldn’t again be passed onto guests. I felt I had paid enough for my four nights which was in excess of £2000. I asked for the charge to be removed as I didn’t agree with it. Having your room cleaned is part of the Hotel experience.

Will go back to Landmark...

Liked: Staff very nice, especially doormen, bed comfortable, good location
Disliked: For a deluxe double, room very small, shower in bath, but couldn’t get bath to work independently of shower. I was on the 8th floor in the eaves, with velux windows! Although I booked over two months in advance, and requested adjoining rooms, we weren’t even on the same floor, but three floors apart! Very annoyed that I was charged a DISCRETIONARY service charge of £27.50 per room per night.
