We had a delightful stay at the Blackstone Renaissance. The hotel is conveniently located to the Auditorium Theatre which is a lovely venue. The Blackstone's staff was extremely attentive, gracious and provides nice customer service. The rooms are well-appointed and the decorating is tastefully updated. We also enjoyed our Saturday dining, before the play, at Mercat's and stopped again for an after dinner drink at the conclusion of the musical.

Liked: Comfortable bed. Very good location next to the park and just 20 minutes away from the river. Close to good breakfast spots and trains.
Disliked: Freezing cold marble floor in the bathroom and no slippers. I had a pretty dark room due to small windows and no ?central? lighting.

Disliked: Breafest restrantant close at 9:30am, too early. And not help to heat up food.

Liked: Location and view of Lake Michigan.
Disliked: Had to pay $60 upgrade per night for two queen beds. The alarm was set for 6am and went off well before we were ready to rise. I heard another guest say the same thing in the elevator. Coincidence or hotel policy?

Liked: Beautiful hotel in prime location of Michigan Avenue. Lots of restaurant options in close walking distance. Staff was courteous and efficient. We make several trips to Chicago and this is my favorite hotel so far!

Liked: This is a beautiful historic hotel. The room key the guy gave me did not work. I went back down to get it fixed and was told to call if it didn't work. I went back down because it still didn't work. Hotel employee upgraded my room even the hotel
Disliked: The only negative would be the key not working and the front desk guy telling me to give it a third try and call for assistance. I was exhausted and that didn't help. Hotel employee provided excellent customer service to rectify the issue.
