Liked: Great location right next to the Barbican and very close to Farringdon and Liverpool Street. Nice integrated old pub and historical setting.
Disliked: Incessant aircon ventilator noise all night

Overrated hotel, getting away with...

Liked: Rom was old and needed a lick of paint, with stains on the walls and cobwebs. Extra bed throw was stained, asked fr a bath robe, which it says is included , sent two up, crumpled and had two long black hairs on it! Looked like they’d picked them up from someone else’s room.Got a room change which was much better and spacious, but the water was cold, ran it for half an hour and eventually came hot, this wasn’t a one off, it needed this every time. We asked for someone to come and check it, as we were trying to get ready to go out for the evening, an hour later it took a second call. It was never fixed as we left.Breakfast, well the sausages were nice!

Liked: Location only 5 mins walk away from Moorgate station, so very convenient for getting out/about and linking with the tube/train network.Very quiet in the room considering its on a main road - no disturbance at night from road traffic/pedestrians, which is great for a City hotel.
Disliked: Room was a little tired - furniture a bit scruffy, could do with a bit of a refurb.Odd music playing in the hallway all the time, which was unnecessary. Our room was a long way from the speaker so didn't disturb us, but glad our room wasn't near the overhead speaker!

Liked: From the moment we stepped into The Montcalm, we were welcomed so warmly by Alexandra, who made sure we had all the support and information we needed. She was incredibly kind and even offered us a complimentary room upgrade! Later in the evening, Corina invited us to the buffet to enjoy some drinks on the house—such a lovely touch! Thank you for a wonderful stay, and we promise to be back
