Excellent hotel location with a...
Liked: The location is great, walking distance of the center attractions (walk of fame, Chinese theater, Dolby theater) and a great spot for a Hollywood sign picture (3 streets over the hotel - Beachwood Dr). Close to the metro station (red B line which can lead to the yellow E line with final stop at Santa Monica, very convenient). The room was spacious, beds were comfortable, big bathroom with a great shower (great pressure). The decoration of the room and hotel as a whole were a plus for the theme of the city.
Disliked: The beds were a little small for a group of tall people and the room doesn't really have any place to hang stuff (towels, bags, etc)

Really enjoyed staying here, great...
Liked: Hotel was in a great location, easy to find, and in a pretty walkable area. Easy access to an upscale grocery store (Gelsons) down the road in one direction, decent mini mart in the other direction. Convenient walking distance to the walk of fame, some views of the Hollywood sign walking down Franklin Ave. The Front desk employee pulled out a map and marked it up for us and gave us a nice rundown of what was walkable and what was... not so much.Super close to the freeway, short drive on surface roads to get to West Hollywood. Breakfast place downstairs was awesome, not too expensive, sort of a mind trip because It's visually styled after a classic greasy spoon diner but definitely elevated and seemed very popular. Did not have a chance to try the hotel bar but it seemed like it was popping - a few other decent looking bars within walking distance or cheap uber distance.Valet was friendly and the service itself was free (excluding tip) and parking was $35 a night which was pretty reasonable. There was street parking around if you're into that, I had a rental so It was nice for some peace of mind that I wasn't going to get dinged up.
Disliked: I wouldn't call it a complaint but I could definitely see someone who's scared of cities in general would probably prefer to stay in a more high-end part of town in a higher end place, but it was great in the immediate area around the hotel. If you don't mind seeing just a little city grittyness and can keep your wits about you if you walk down the wrong street it's definitely an awesome and less expensive option. It was a bit strange that we had to give our key to the Valet even though we had parked in the almost empty lot ourselves, but on the other hand it was good to know soemone was keeping an eye on the lot at all times. If I'm stretching for a complaint it would be that the parking fee wasn't listed in the booking listing, but I think that's not on the hotel. The email they sent had that info and it was a great price compared to other places (Saw as much as $50-75 a night parking at other places)

Beyond expectations
Liked: The restaurant was fantastic, the front desk people were incredibly lovely and accommodating of keeping our bags until checkin and then an early checkin with a great corner room. I would stay here again in a heartbeat
Disliked: The elevator was pretty slow
