Very downhill from previous visits

Disliked: 1 staff on for breakfast with the amount of people there was very slow service the breakfast was burnt . The bar says online that it shuts at 11pm which is false advertisement as they were shouting last orders at 9.45 pm. Wee usally book here every year for the same event next year we have booked elsewhere this hotel has went right downhill over the years which is a shame

Disappointing

Liked: Comfortable beds, aircon in room, bath
Disliked: Breakfasts were mean and cheapest ingredientsWe only had dinner one night because it was so awful. My meall was inedible, my husband's was tolerable but expensive for what it was. I didn't complain because staff were rushed off their feet and dealing with other complaints plus we'd already waited half an hour to be servedThete was no remote in the room and no means of contacting reception without walking across car park, no instructions for anything. When we made a gentle complaint (after all it wasn't the one staff members fault) he agreed and said 'Well that's Marstons for you'We do short stays quite frequently so know what to expect for our money. Everything at Talardy was the cheapest it could be which made the whole stay feel expensive.I'll never book a Marstons place again.

Avoid

Liked: Location
Disliked: Booked and paid for property via Booking.com. I checked in via Marstons app to save time , so expected to collect the key and go to the room .Instead we were asked to pay again …showed my online bank statement to show it was already paid ! Gentleman said “ we have a lot of problems with Booking.com “ . Finally accepted I had paid after he phoned someone . I had also booked a continental breakfast for two using the Marstons online app which I wanted to pay for ….Gentleman wanted to charge me £27 !!!! I refused as this was double the actual price . In the end he gave up and said pay when you have your breakfast tomorrow . At no point was there any apology. Our room was in the main building , the carpet was dirty . The was a cushion of some description leaning against a light fitting which we put on the bed see photo .
