Wonderful stay

Liked: Early check in.  Bright and spacious room, nice view of quaint street, hills at the back.  Especially loved the hugh white supersoft cuddly fluffy towel. Friendly people. Breakfast very good, cooked to order.  Nice beer garden at the rear. Pretty fairy lights in the pub. Quiet midweek. All in all we enjoyed our stay and will definitely choose this hotel again.

Liked: Location was perfect close to the beach and in middle if shops
Disliked: When we arrived the lady took us to our room an only explained to not open the window as the sash was broken didn't explain how we come in or out or anything about the hotel or location there was no information on check out time for breakfast or how er got in an out at night if dog needed toilet the toilet in bedroom was blocked and flooded we reported to the barmen with no real reply or care. We knew being in a pub it may be quite loud I think there may of been some sort of dance party on as the music thumped until at lest 1am. We hardly slept due to the window not closing an the seaguls so loud we actually couldn't wait to leave didn't even stop for breakfast. I would not recommend what so ever even our room door looked like it had been kicked in a few times so we kept out valuables in the car!! Stay clear staff are not friendly warming or welcoming when we arrived we said we had a room and there waiter told us it's nothing to do with him!

Barmouth is perfectly placed for...

Liked: The hotel is VERY deceiving from outside. 5 very dead previous years hanging baskets still hanging there. Broken plant pot at the entrance. Ashtrays full on the tables outside full of fag ends and rain water. You had to manoeuvre through used frying fat, gallons of it stacked high. Broken glass bottle and bins to get in the side door. It was a local pub where the some of locals drank, a lot…….. all day. The customers sitting room was a dumping ground. That said - The staff were so nice, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast would have been perfect if someone hadn’t just bleached the tables! The breakfast room wreaked of neat bleach, yuk. The breakfast were hot and tasty, definitely big enough to set you up for the day. The bed was big and comfy, pristine white bed linen. The shower room was very tired and dated. The electric shower was old, one night it didnt work,cold water only! The towels were pristine white. There was urine in the toilet when we arrived! There was water in the kettle! Lots of teabags, no milk! The paint was peeling off everywhere. The hotel is smack bang in the middle of Barmouth. SOMETHING YOU MUST CONSIDER BEFORE BOOKING. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING IN BARMOUTH. You have to trawl round looking for parking all to be paid for and very odd parking times. The good restaurants are booked up 2/3 days ahead. So book a couple before you go, or as soon as you arrive.Just a little bit of tlc would go along way.

Liked: Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, so friendly good service, great food,comfortable rooms, great tea coffee/tea facilities. Had trouble with the TV, but fixed ASAP, loved the beds great nights sleep

Liked: Friendly and helpful owners, comfortable and clean, good value. Food and beer great.
Disliked: A little cluttered near side door. No parking at hotel but paid parking across road.
